I had a really bad experience here..this place took me and my wife 5 hours to get the full experience up and down, the route absolutely needs a full uplift, maybe tarmac or the likes, there were rocks, shale and allsorts along the route, I lost my footing quite a few times. Along this route, not a single shop or toilet, especially on the summit where you should most definitely have a refreshment/ice cream stop. Once we had reached the summit, we had to wait a full 45 minutes for some cloud to move so we could see the particular view we wanted to see, we should not have to wait this long for a simple view.. On our ascent, we saw the fantastic mountain rescue helicopter rescuing someone from just below us, clearly another drunk out to ruin people's day, which of course put us both on edge as we are not keen on being around drunk people whilst enjoying nature. Finally, to top it off, about 25 mins from reaching the bottom, I got a stone stuck in my shoe, which really hurt my big toe, I had to pull over, search for a dry Boulder to perch all as they were all wet, and remover the stone. Again, if the route was tarmac, or the likes, this would not have happened. I hope my review raises a few concerns for anyone thinking of...

After summit went to the Lake Burnmoor Tarn and came...
