I prefer a milder whisky and a tour of Speyside whisky distilleries had been on my bucket list for years and was lucky to be given a weekend trip by my family as a Christmas present. The itinerary for our tour was arranged by Calum who was a marvellous choice as our guide and driver, he loves whisky and obviously knows a lot about the subject which he freely shared with us. Our conversations whilst driving around the beautiful Speyside countryside covered many aspects of the whisky industry, its history and problems, all with a lot of laughs. The schedule revolved around the timings of organised tours at various distilleries, but between these Calum would take us to look at other distilleries, many of which aren’t open to the public so that we could see their very varied layouts, size of operations, and some interesting architecture. We visited a wide range of distilleries, from a very new one that hasn’t yet produced a finished whisky, to some older ones we knew of, some we didn’t, and Calum even slotted in an extra visit to a newish distillery as he thought we would enjoy the whiskies they were producing, we certainly did. A fabulous tour and a great weekend

We spent a day with Calum touring Speyside in October. We had a simply wonderful day. Calum worked with us before the tour to create an itinerary - no easy task since the only day we had available was a Sunday when many distilleries are closed. We ended up at McCallan, Benreich and Cardhu with a stop at the Highlander Inn for lunch. Fantastic day made even better by Calum sharing his knowledge on the drives between distilleries. Oh, and did I mention the impromptu small picnic ( sharing a dram by a babbling brook along with shortbread.) that he whipped up out of his trunk? A very pleasant and welcome surprise. Great day. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing time with Calum on a tour to discover the many distilleries of Speyside. We were introduced to a variety of distilleries some we knew and many were new to us that we likely would not have known to visit without Calum’s guidance. It was a discovery of many new Whisky’s and Scottish scenery I will remember for a long time. One of the best parts of trip were the additional items Calum was able to add in each day in addition to each planned site. I highly recommend Simply Speyside and recommend anyone reading this to trust in their ability to provide one of the memorable stress free holidays of your life.

I had the pleasure of joining a three-day whisky tour with Simply Speyside, expertly led by Calum. This tour showcased some of the best distilleries in Scotland, providing a comprehensive and enriching experience that went beyond typical tastings.

The highlights included the "Connoisseur Experience" at Aberfeldy Distillery and the "Toasting Tour" at the Speyside Cooperage, which offered unique insights into the craftsmanship behind whisky production. The "Deconstructed Tasting" at Aberlour was particularly educational, allowing us to understand the complexities of flavour development.

Calum’s expertise was evident throughout the trip, as he seamlessly managed logistics and provided rich historical and technical insights at each stop. The choice of restaurants for lunch ensured we enjoyed local Scottish cuisine, enhancing the overall experience.

The total cost for the entire three-day tour was reasonable given the depth of the experience and the quality of services provided. It was evident that each aspect of the tour was carefully chosen to ensure a memorable and immersive experience.

Calum's Simply Speyside tour is an excellent choice for anyone looking to delve deep into the world of Scotch whisky. His knowledge and the well-planned itinerary made for an informative and delightful journey through the heart of Speyside. This tour is a standout that I would highly recommend to both whisky enthusiasts and...

I was going to visit some friends, and my one friend offered to drive us. I told him that was absolutely unacceptable. I would be hiring a driver. But as they live in the UK, he and his wife offered to find the driver for us.

Glenallachie Distillery, one of their favorites, recommended Calum. We could not have been more pleased. He is a small business, so it was just the three of us on the tour.

Calum picked us up at our location and immediately started driving us around the area. He was so knowledgeable about the area, it's history, and it's future. As a collector and drinker of whisky himself, he was so knowledgeable.

He took us to three incredible distilleries, an excellent lunch, and a bonus distillery as there was time. Afterwards, he had some small samples at a gorgeous spot on the river for us to sample.

This was an excellent tour. Calum was the thing that elevated the trip entirely. We would have spent all weekend with him if we could. He was excellent. We could not recommend him highly enough, and WHEN we go back, either as a group or my friend and his wife separately, we will be using Calum and...
