⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spring Valley Lakes – A Wonderful Family Camping Experience||We stayed at Spring Valley Lakes in our campervan, and my children had the best time! Each of them brought a friend, and we also met up with other friends during our stay – it really was a perfect family-and-friends trip.||From the moment we spoke to the staff, they were so friendly, welcoming, and couldn’t do enough for us. They immediately put us at ease when we arrived, especially as we weren’t sure where to go. We mentioned it was our first visit and that we had friends staying there, and without us even asking, they found our friends’ names and placed us as close as possible to them. Such a thoughtful touch!||The kids were in heaven – they played in the lake’s swimming area, went kayaking, and tried stand-up paddleboarding on the day we arrived, and then repeated it all again the next day. That night, someone even came around to check if we needed a fire pit and wood, which made for a perfect campfire evening.||We headed over to the marquee in the evening, enjoyed a lively singer, and even had a fun karaoke session where the kids joined in. There were lovely campfires outside the marquee, creating a relaxed and cosy atmosphere.||The waterpark side was fantastic! The owners were just as friendly and helpful as the rest of the staff, and their helper Lexi was brilliant – she couldn’t do enough for us. She explained safety rules clearly and made sure all buoyancy aids were fitted properly, which gave us real peace of mind.||If we had to pick up on one tiny thing, it would be that a few more toilets would have been handy – but honestly, that’s just nitpicking after such a brilliant stay.||All in all, Spring Valley Lakes was everything we could have hoped for – warm, welcoming, full of activities, and a truly relaxing break. We’ll...
Read moreNot our cup of tea. We stayed in May, for a bank holiday: Pros: lovely site with flat pitches Cons: our 'lake view' pitch changed into a van view as there were four vans parked in front of our tent (after we pitched) next to a busy road, A465; loud day and night; I can't get used to it as this is what I want to get away from but unfortunately not possible here
Pros: Showers together with toilets, nice warm and powerful Cons: only two for the campsite and if someone is taking a shower you have no chance for the toilet
Pros: double-decker bus with alcohol and an entertainment tent with live music next to it, plus chips and burger van (best chips ever) Cons: loud music till late at night, if you like meeting people, drinking and having this kind of fun in nature these are your Pros, our Cons
Pros: nice lake for a short paddle with amazing bush/forest growing from the bottom - lovely to observe it when you swim above that Cons: quite small so you can't get away and explore as it is 5 min paddle from one end to the other
Cons: road to the campsite is a bit more than rocky on top of the late-night entertainment, the next morning we had a new arrival to the pod, who, as the first thing, unpacked a big/massive powerful speaker and they were happy to use it for the rest to 'enjoy'; entertainment crew was impressed as well and happy to test it for the next hours (we decided to leave at this point) take your own rubbish with you, hard to pack non-recycling and recycling rubbish, next to the rest of the camping equipment in your fully packed car
Pros: lovely views microwave and kettle in the shower pod sheltered washing up area in the shower pod £5 for self-launch on the lake for...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Spring Valley Lakes, an 80-acre privately owned gem in the Glyn-Neath valley. Conveniently located just off the A465, the site is dominated by two large, tranquil freshwater lakes that were initially man-made over 26 years ago for quarrying sand and stone used to build the nearby dual carriageway. This historical aspect adds a unique charm to the location, which is flanked by the scenic Neath river on one side and old waterway canals on the other.
Spring Valley Lakes offers a variety of accommodations and activities that cater to all kinds of outdoor enthusiasts. The glamping pods are particularly delightful, some even featuring private hot tubs which are perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure. For those who prefer a more traditional camping experience, there are ample campervan and tent pitches available, all within easy reach of well-maintained toilet and hot-shower facilities.
From land sports like archery and knife & axe throwing to water-based activities such as fishing, swimming, scuba diving, and paddle-boarding, there's something to suit everyone's interests.
Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat in nature or an action-packed outdoor adventure, Spring Valley Lakes has it all. The beautiful setting, combined with the excellent facilities and diverse range of activities, makes it a fantastic destination for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.
