I spent a week at Willowbank lodges with my wife and elderly parents in September 2022. The host 'Nicky' was just about perfect. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she was bursting at the seams with helpfulness. The lodge, 'Bullrush' was great, there was loads of room despite four adults, it had pretty much every home comfort and utensil you could ask for. Spacious bathrooms, super comfy beds 'not at all cheap ones'. The grounds were really nice, the ponds and wildlife added a sense of serenity to an already lovely area. So, why the four stars I hear you ask ? One word, dogs. I dislike dogs and the wife is highly allergic to them. So when you have dogs wandering around pooping freely, running up to you barking and growling when you just want a peaceful walk around the ponds, it puts you off. What makes it worse is when the half wit owner says "he's only saying hello". I'm glad we didn't have young children with us. Despite all the positive points at Willowbank and there are lots, I won't go back due to the dog issue.

Cute, remote country lodges, backing on to a pond and a country trail. We were unlucky with the weather, but were lucky enough to see a family of swans walk by one evening. The facilities are pleasant and homely, with fridges, cookers, microwaves, pots, pans and cutlery. However, the partitions between the units aren't soundproof and the hot water seems to be limited. Overall, we loved our stay - just be warned though, you'll need to travel down some very narrow roads to get here! Edit: I gave 3 stars in error (Sorry Abbie)! I have now upped it to the 4 stars I initially intended! 🙂

A little piece of paradise! ‘Lovely lady hostess (Nicky) who is extremely welcoming and not only provides first class accommodation in a stunning location, but adds many thoughtful touches that make you feel at home. My husband’s 60th birthday weekend with family and friends was absolutely wonderful, catering for all the needs of our party with everybody wanting to return! Cannot praise or recommend too highly! An absolute delight.

We were lucky to have spent 3 nights here. Our cabin was not only comfortable (excellent beds) but also clearly built to high spec and nicely designed. The grounds are stunning (see picture taken early in the evening from the veranda of our cabin!) with an abundance of flora and fauna. We chose here as we wanted a good base to go on country walks from and also a couple of day-trips to nearby Marlborough and Highclere Castle, what we hadn't counted on was how much time we would spend relaxing on the veranda! We have a friends wedding nearby at the end of Summer and will 100% be...
