My daughter races at South Coast Karting. It is a great outdoor karting venue! Conveniently located and easy to find, it sets the stage for a thrilling day of racing. There’s nothing quite like the adrenaline rush of speeding around the track under the open sky, and this place definitely delivers that experience, which you cannot get in indoor karting.
The track layout is great, with a great mix of challenging corners and fast straights that keep you engaged and on your toes, but it's also not too intimidating for beginners. It's designed to cater to all skill levels, from first-time drivers to seasoned racers. The outdoor setting enhances the thrill, allowing for plenty of room to maneuver and really test your driving skills.
Safety is clearly a top priority at South Coast Karting. Before hitting the track, they deliver a comprehensive safety briefing that coveres everything from kart handling to track rules. The staff make sure you understand the importance of safety gear and how to drive responsibly. They provide good quality helmets and suits, ensuring you are fully protected while racing.
Speaking of the staff, they are absolutely fantastic! Friendly, professional, and passionate about karting. They create a welcoming atmosphere that makes the experience even more enjoyable. They are always more than willing to offer tips for improving lap times and they're attentive throughout your time on the track, making sure everyone feels comfortable and safe.
You can tell that safety and performance are taken seriously here, which enhances the overall experience.
Overall, South Coast Karting is a must-visit for anyone looking for a fun and safe outdoor karting experience. With a stunning location, outstanding staff, and a strong focus on safety, it’s the perfect place for families, friends, or anyone looking to enjoy an exhilarating, fun...
Read moreFirst of all, the person who handed out the racing outfits (helmets and the suit) always tried to give at least one size lower than what would suit us. Since I didn't want to waste any time I didn't fuss about it (and had difficulty sitting in the car and getting out later on) but my wife had to try to wear and take out the suit for three times for no given reason, even though we asked for the biggest size available each time.
The second issue is that we were asked to be there 80 minutes before the race started, which is a bit much imo.
Third is the fact that the rain caused many puddles on the track and we were soaking wet in the end, I know we can't put this solely on the company but a better track could help with the puddles I guess.
Other things like the briefing, toilets and the cafe etc. were great, as well as the rest of the staff. I should also mention that the phone was quickly answered when I gave a call.
I don't know much about their costs so I can't really complain with pricing.
Finally, the location on Google Maps took us to the BH Uni complex rather than the parking space we could use so that might be worth looking.
Overall, it was plenty of fun but we had to overlook a few things here and there.
Would I go there again? - Yes. Any time soon or as a regular? -...
Read moreThank you to the guys for making my son's birthday treat a memorable one. Recommend trying this track out. Have been here on two consecutive years now, with my sons, (both winter birthdays) and their friendships groups, 4 boys in each group and every time they had great fun experiences. This winter one son was ill twice, and SCK kindly bunny jumped the booking to this Saturday gone, having booked it for November 2024. Can't fault the track staff for politeness, safety and spotting, and helping less experienced drivers. My daughter (in short video), did get some bruising after she got hit and knocked off the track by another, more competitive and zealous, driver but the staff were quick and efficient in helping her back on, checking she was ok. It hasn't put her off; as would like to come back but do a mini grand prix with a group of her friends, rather than an open track session.
Premises, track and karts are kept tidy and clean, there is a covered area for spectators to view from, and if you get cold the cafe is a good spot to hang out with more monitoring screens showing the running positions, timings and scores. I'm looking forward to having a go myself next year for the boys 14th and 17th bdays, if we can all wait...
