Golf course putting greens were being worked on - holes drilled in to the green(end of season), not told prior to arriving or at time of booking which made the putting greens unreadable & unplayable, but offered a £5 voucher for next time(Haven’t returned to play) - Poor. Fitting service & PGA pro staff member professional service - Good. Customer service - Poor.
Ordered a set of golf irons & a set of wedges at the same time beginning of January, notwithstanding lockdown & Covid, wedges arrived but still waiting for irons, having to chase every time for updates & received 3 different ETAs with no compensation or goodwill from either iron manufacturer or LGC. Understandable for the delay on supply from manufacturer to some degree but poor communication without being prompted & lack of effort on chasing supplier again without being prompted compounds my frustration & reluctance to provide any further business to LGC. Would anyone else want to wait 14 weeks to receive their clubs? (And still not arrived at time of review). If I’d of had regular updates & proactive chasing from LGC I wouldn’t be so perturbed by the customer service. All requests for updates were sent when the shop were able to respond to emails which mitigates the furlough excuses that may ensue.
Get a fitting and order online, save yourself time & effort. Not worth the hassle of having to spend hundreds of £ for lack of customer service.
If I wanted no customer service I’d of bought online...

Or rather, stood out, because upon asking for a chair the member of staff who was there had a quick look around the immediate area and said something along the lines of "oh there was one around here but it's not here anymore" and continued with his work. I don't know how a member of the public let alone a member of staff could be so inconsiderate to an 84 year old asking to sit down but regardless it was extremely poor customer service and he was forced to stand or leave.
Cafe: Staff very friendly and the sandwiches and soup were good but the soup had been spilled over the side of the bowl before it got to the table and the nachos with chilli beef were really dry. Having said that, at the bottom of the Nacho bowl was a pool of fatty water so perhaps that was supposed to act as the sauce?
All round decent experience but I expected better. £3+ pints, £5 for 70 balls on the driving range. I just hope that the poor customer service...
Read moreDon't get me wrong the facilities are nice. I aren't criticising them.
My criticism is the policy of only allowing customers to buy more expensive small baskets at the driving range under guise of "we're busy".
You can't buy a large basket at £7.50 because we're busy. But you can buy a small basket at £5 then come back and buy a second small basket straight away. Half the bays weren't even being used the last time they pulled this one.
Money making scam from start to finish.
I was seriously considering membership here but that's...
