Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway — Local services in Llanelli Rural

Staff very friendly. My son had a brilliant experience driving the train (an experienced train driver goes through all the necessary elements to drive the train, then he watches you as you drive it). At present, there's a mobile cafe for food/drinks. We were told, in the near future, a train carriage will be converted into a cooking and eating area. They also have other big projects planned. Currently there's a shed were visitors will be shown. A few trains dotted around. For the price of the the driver experience, you'll get a certificate, mug and become a member for a year. We have been to this place twice and plan on returning....

An unforgettable day doing the Pacer Driver Experience. I never thought in a million years that I would ever get an opportunity to drive a train in the real world and I had the biggest smile on my face the whole time! Well worth the money and the 6 hours travelling there and then 6 hours travelling back! A unique opportunity to get up close and personal and hands on with some iconic rolling stock that I would thoroughly recommend to anyone interested in trains. They now have a cafe and toilets for people that path through on the bike! Best place for a stopping point between Llanelli and Tumble.

Workers there are kind and helpful, the lady will fill my water bottle for me.

The only thing I could suggest is to have a refillable water tap outside the cafe, I imagine it could get busy in the summer days when people might be queuing to refill their water...
