Stunning, absolutely stunning. The weather was great (unusual for Wales!), I do love Wales, but it does rain a lot... The pass is beautiful, even though there are cars driving past you, it's still very peaceful. The views are amazing, it feels like you can see miles and miles away and I would imagine they are even better on the paths, sadly because I could barely walk, I didn't get to see them. As we were approaching the pass I looked up to my right and saw cars on a road high about us. I asked my husband if that was the road we were on and he said yes. It looked like a place dogs would love, although I would recommend keeping them on a lead because there are sheep nearby and poo bags of course! Even though I could barely walk, I had to get out of the car and appreciate the views and get some fresh air. If you are visiting, I would recommend you bring any food or especially drinks with you as the Pondarosa cafe is shut. Lots of parking space at the top of the pass, also a layby/viewing spot half way up The car park isn't that flat, there's a few potholes, but it's ok if you are just aware of the ruts and stones. The layby was tarmacked. There were also no toilets I could find. The closest we're in Llangollen. It's 40p to use the ladies and they accept cash or card. It's s really beautiful and we will definitely...

High on Clouds for sure. Must say this place an absolute treat to get to. Beautiful scenic drive route as well as the views.

If anyone is up for some nice drive by themselves or with the family then this would definitely be one of the ideal place north wales has to offer.

I suppose it could get busy during the daytime or over the weekends, however when I visited this place early morning around 5am or 6am. The clouds and the hills/ mountains were breathtakingly beautiful.

There is a lay-by for parking and it is spacious enough to accommodate few vehicles and camper vans.

Just be careful with the speed limits and lambs or other animals on the road specially around the sharp bends. Not using the horn would be ideal to show respect to local residents or not to...

In the early 90s "some people I knew" considered this area of outstanding natural beauty a suitable place to pick and eat magic mushrooms, then spend the day and night riding motorcycles around the ideally suited terrain, before settling down to an all night party. I've included a picture of "some other, totally different people" enjoying a drink in the late afternoon sun. Nowadays, thank heavens, this sort of thing is strictly prohibited and it's a paradise for walkers and people...
