The most incredible experience right on our doorstep! My 10yr old was bought the experience as a birthday gift, he loves all things animals and reptiles but his ASD made me worry how the visit would go. I needn't have give it a second thought, Darren not only welcomed him sharing all the knowledge he has, he really nurtured it and celebrated my sons enthusiasm. My youngest, 8yrs old, was a little more tentative with regards to holding all of the animals but its such an intimate and caring setting that he soon relaxed and ended up holding alot of them too! The highlight was Spongebob and my nervous hysteria at posing for a family pic with a giant snake but as a full grown adult who runs a mile at anything that crawls, i surprised myself with holding things like tarantulas and snakes, most likely because the environment is setup perfectly, along with Darrens own lovely nature and reassurance as well as the knowledge he shares that gives you the confidence to give it a go! Its a small but mighty endeavour that Darren is clearly very passionate about, i wouldn't hesitate to book again and recommend...

Today my wife and I took our 15 year old son, and I have to say what an amazing experience, the gentleman was amazing took time to explain things, answered our questions and upon entrance we were greeted by TANK….. lovely tortoise roaming around like he is a guard dog (he loves walking over your feet). If your child shows any interest in reptiles don’t hesitate to book a visit to jungle hut you won’t regret it. Got to hold tarantula, insects, fed TANK lettuce, fed iguana a tomato, held different bearded dragons and fed 1 of them and then to finish my son, wife and I all sat down and held SpongeBob (yellow snake) don’t remember what it’s called. But a beautiful snake I have to say. I don’t ever write reviews but today’s experience was an absolute belter of a time, so I needed to share my honest review to encourage anyone to book a visit Thanks again for a lovely visit will be planning another...

Our trip to The Jungle Hut was a gift and pre-booking is essential. There is plenty of parking and a cafe with tasty cakes opposite...but to the meat of this review - we had so much fun! This was a private tour, just the 2 of us with the Jungle Ranger (I never did catch his real name). There is an amazing selection of animals to meet including cockroaches, millipedes, tarantula, various lizards, tortoise, and the highlight for my daughter - snakes! The corn snake and massive banana python were very calm and could be handled, as were many of the other animals. The ones perhaps not best handled could be fed with tongs. My 8yo loved it and is now working to persuade her mother we should get a corn snake! Well...
