Really fantastic well-run stables offering lessons, hacks and livery. Loads of horses to pick from and you can request certain horses, without putting the stables' noses out of joint. I rode Bonnie last year and two weeks ago and both times she tossed her head rather a lot so last Saturday I asked to ride Spice on a 90 minute beach ride, led by Rebecca. It was a glorious day, the beach at Polurrian was empty, the sun came out on cue. Spice was fab - really comfy and well-behaved. Rebecca is delightful, very friendly and helpful, not one of those horsey types who make you feel small. The stables are clean, well-run and there's a great selection of hats and boots for those who don't have their own. They take safety seriously and are conscientious about everything, asking newcomers to do a trial ride in the indoor arena to test they are capable before going out hacking. Gemma seems to be the stable manager and she is also friendly and helpful. It's excellent value too at just £16 for an hour's hack and £25 for a 90 min. beach ride. Cornwall is the best place in the world to ride and I'm in heaven...

Booked and paid for a hack over the phone after assuring them my daughters could walk/ trot/ canter........was told there would be an assessment first to ensure everyone was up to standard Turned up and got kitted out...filled out forms again stating my children's ability... Unfortunately a mother and daughter who were also on the hack couldn't ride atall and even though the mother kindly offered to come off the ride as she felt she'd be holding my 2 back the instructors advised her there would be very little trotting on this hack so her daughter needn't worry!! I feel this lady and her child should have been put on a beginners ride as it impacted on the ride my daughters had which seemed unfair Can't say I would use them again nor can I...

Found Newton Equestrian doing a google search for Beach Rides whilst staying in an AirBnB in Rosudgeon. My 11 year old daughter is a keen rider and has always wanted to try a beach ride. The staff are helpful and friendly and go out of their way to ensure a great experience. The ride itself was fantastic and my daughter enjoyed every moment of it, so much so in fact, that we went back two days later to repeat it. The riders are supplied with all the necessary protective gear while the less experienced have a guide who will walk the horse with you should it be necessary.
