Arniss Equestrian — Local services in New Forest

Thank you ever so much to Amy and Claire who took myself, my brother and my mum for our first group hack yesterday! Firstly, Amy and Claire introduced themselves to us immediately upon arrival to the yard and explained the boots and headwear we were required to wear, ensuring this fitted us appropriately. Secondly, we were then introduced to our horses that we would be riding on! Careful consideration was made to those in the group who felt nervous, both Amy and Claire took the time to explain each step of the process and were able to answer any of the questions we had. Both were welcoming, professional, and attentive during the hack which certainly eased some nervousness from riding the first time! We had been taken on a beautiful hack up on the hills, with an amazing view, and a whistle stop history lesson about the New Forest! Finally, we ended our hack with a joyful walk back to the yard, each of the horses ridden were so well behaved and can see they are so well looked after. Amy was also kind enough to take a selection of photos before sending them to us before we left! I highly recommend Arniss Equestrian, should you wish to experience horse riding through the forest terrain!

My partner and I came to Arniss Equestrian for a 1 hour hack while visiting the New Forest. The staff were friendly and kind and the horses were very sweet (if only a little lazy haha). The scenery was amazing, great views from up on the hillsides over the New Forest national park. We saw deer, cows and even rode right by a group of New Forest ponies!

The staff and the calm, reliable horses took really good care of my partner who is a beginner and has only ridden a handful of times – he felt safe the entire time and they offered support/guidance when needed.

The hack was well tailored to the different abilities of our group; myself and the other more experienced riders were taken off the main trail and had the opportunity to trot and canter across the beautiful landscape.

Would just say though that if you're looking to ride New Forest ponies specifically, I'm not sure they have them here but their horses were nevertheless fun and safe!

My partner and I recently visited Arniss Equestrian and had an incredible time. The ride was full of long, exhilarating canters through beautiful countryside—an absolute dream for any confident rider. We were lucky to be taken out by Katrina, who was not only knowledgeable and professional but also great fun and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. A special mention also goes to Jan, who handled our booking with such warmth and care. She made us feel truly welcome and ensured everything ran smoothly from the start.

Arniss Equestrian is a wonderful place for riders of all levels, but it’s especially brilliant for those with experience who are craving those fast canters. Just keep in mind that, like all responsible stables, they prioritise safety for both horse and rider, so you will need to be graded. If you're hoping for an advanced ride, I highly recommend giving the lovely Jan a call—she’ll guide you through the process and make sure you’re matched with the right experience.
