Morrisons — Local services in Newcastle upon Tyne

Sadly the Morrisons company has reduced its sense of customer values and service. Staff in the store are great but central customer service are so restricted that it's impossible to get through to the local store by phone. Management needs to review how customers are responded to. My example is wanting to know when I could be sure of getting Seville oranges for making marmalade: it's usually a tight 2-week slot of availability. I used to phone the Produce department and find out in two minutes. Now it's all so centralised that the number of units in stock is known but there's no local contact allowed to ensure that by the time I've travelled there, those last three units will be available and my journey and time have been wasted! Allowing customers to speak with the store to arrange collection rather than being told to open an account and pay for delivery would make a huge difference but no! No sense of customer circumstances! To add insult to injury one the bag of the oranges had a mouldy one in it, not readily visible at the point...

This Morrisons store is well laid out, clean and always well-stocked with everything from tea and biscuits to cleaning products.

There is plenty of parking, I imagine they will never run out of spaces. Toilets are reasonably clean and in great state of repair.

There is also a timpsons and a cafe. Never really had food from the cafe so cannot comment on the quality there.

Staff are helpful and always present. Also, the regular checkouts are always staffed, which is a bonus because I prefer humans on tills.

The fishmongers and butchers are all great too, with every kind of household meat and seafood available.

The fresh produce is quite good, I have found it well stocked and of great quality.

The bakery is nice, with several regular and artisan breads baked fresh daily.

This store provides everything one would need...

I go to West Denton Morrisons daily staff are great girls on the Deli counter are very helpful Debs,Sharon, Sarah and Denise keep up the good work if you ever need help to where certain products are and what ailse they will be any one of the floor staff are at hand to help thanks Vicky and Leslie and Gary and as for managers Duncan is the man to see he is very helpful and if your enquiring about certain things that have been advirtised and they are available in a particular store Duncan is at hand to help also Neil if you have a question about certain things and Duncan not at hand Neil can also help with your enquiry two very helpful and friendly managers keep up the good work all the staff at Morrisons West...
