My favourite place to walk or cycle. There is so much to see. The River Lea at Nazeing / Broxbourne offers a small cafe and The Crown pub. Walk the other way towards Hoddesdon and there is the Carthagena Lock which is beautiful in the summer and Dobbs Weird, home to a cafe and the Fish and Eels pub. In between the two is a beautiful boating lake.

Lovely peaceful area. Lots of wildlife to see. Is muddy and slippery in areas and there are a number of trees that have fallen over and block the footpaths but you can climb over them. At one stage there is a small cascade waterfall and a bench where you can sit and enjoy the noise. It is quite isolated and in the hour walk i saw no other people

The Lea river runs from rural Hertfordshire into the heart of London. Its so picturesque and unbroken walkings around and cycling route runs the entire length of the river. Anyhow i had a walk in Hertford town and enjoyed it. Beautiful autumn views going through green spaces

Water bus also available in the summer months. All ages can enjoy this place. We choose to do a very brisk walk of some 7 kilometres in our local Lea Valley Park to greet the New Year, where it was possible to wish passing fellow walkers and mostly dog exercising families : a...
