🐾 Norfolk days = sandy paws + sea breeze. The best part? I booked our gorgeous pet-friendly stay through my own travel platform and earned the commission back. Win-win! 🌊 #NorfolkHolidays #TravelWithPets #PetFriendlyTravel #EarnWhileYouTravel

Walcott Beach is a charming seaside destination located on the northeastern coast of Norfolk, England. This picturesque beach is part of the small village of Walcott, known for its serene atmosphere and stunning views of the North Sea. The beach features a mix of sand and shingle, offering a peaceful retreat for visitors seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of more crowded seaside resorts. Walcott Beach is ideal for a leisurely stroll, with its long stretch of coastline providing an opportunity to enjoy the fresh sea air and calming sounds of the waves. The coastal defenses, including sea walls and groynes, reflect the ongoing efforts to protect this area from the forces of erosion, a testament to the community's resilience against nature's challenges. Visitors to Walcott Beach can also enjoy exploring the surrounding Norfolk countryside, with its rolling fields and quaint villages. The beach is a perfect spot for a family day out, where children can play by the water's edge, and adults can relax and take in the tranquil surroundings. Overall, Walcott Beach offers a peaceful and scenic getaway, making it a hidden gem on the Norfolk coast that is perfect for those seeking tranquility and natural beauty.

There is a short section near the road, where you can also find a local shop, a dog friendly cafe (with ice-cream bar during the summer) and a dog friendly fish & chip restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating at both. There are also public toilets available. The beach can be very small, or disappear at high tide, but is otherwise sandy, with plenty of space. Dogs are welcome on the beach, with the exception of the section that runs parallel to the road from May to September. That section is easily avoided. From one end you can walk on the beach to Mundesley. From the other you can walk to Happisburgh (do check tide times & avoid high tide). If you walk towards Happisburgh there are sand cliffs, so there isn't really anywhere dogs can run off to, just up & down the beach, unless they enjoy swimming šŸ‘ The further you walk away from the prom, the less people & dogs you will see. You will often have the beach to yourself, even during high season. This is N/E Norfolk. Even when the beach is 'busy' it is much, much quieter than other areas & other parts of the country. If you (or your dogs) enjoy your own space, this is the...

A wide and long stretch of sand which allows walking from Happisburgh to Bacton Gas terminal although you may have to take to the sea wall when the tide or the North Sea nor-easterlies dictate. Walcott beach has become very popular since over a million cubic metres of sand were added to the shoreline as a Dutch inspired coastal erosion protection measure, so parking on fine weekends and in summer can involve a search along the narrow coastal road. The sand was dredged off-shore from Great Yarmouth and the number of large oyster shells now on the beach make you realise what a fabulous sea-food industry we may have had on this coast, but for overfishing and urban pollution in the 19 and 20th centuries. Don't worry, the water's clean now and this is also a popular swimming spot. The chippy at Walcott seems popular, particularly with the gulls. Please don't feed them, it's encouraging...
