I cannot give any more than two stars due to the debarcle we had trying to get here yesterday (Mon Aug 26th). The road isnt great, but I am used to small poorly kept carriageways - however, the cars parked on this small road contributed to the melee. The car park to the pub was blocked and - although I was just trying to turn around - more cars came in and just blocked the entire place. Cue madness, as people expected others to move - but they literally had no place to move to. The car park for the resevoir was not clearly marked - and we decided to just give up and leave - then ended up in another jam whilst trying to pass all the parked cars, when more cars were coming through. The place itself is probably lovely - however, we will give it a miss in future..... one less car for...

I love it here breathtaking views it can be made into a nice short walk at about an hour to go around the reservoir once or can be extended for anything up to half a day with all the other trails that lead off of the path it has picnic areas at one end and a convenient pub at the other that does amazing food which is always welcome after a nice walk with the children we go regularly in the summer has an on site car park also which is free so can be a free day out if need be we as a family...

Overall a great, hour-long walk around the reservoir.

The road leading up to the reservoir is fairly narrow, and the parking itself is limited and full of pot holes, so take your time when approaching it.

The recent deforestation around the reservoir has also created an eye sore, not to mention the use of heavy machinery has drawn mud onto the pathways which are liable to flooding. Walking...

Went early morning, very quiet and peaceful. Such a lovely walk, car park was a decent size. Enough spaces to choose from. Quite muddy and wet in places, so walking boots/wellies needed. The only downside was that there were hardly any bins around for dog bags. Definitely would go again. It's a lovely walk and lots of little paths taking you different directions to explore

A lovely sunny day not too hot 🌞 The walk is a circular walk about 1.5 to 2.0 hours depending on how fast you want to go. It starts at the carpark and ends at the carpark. It is a flat well defined path with access for wheelchairs and prams. Try to get there early and on a week day as it can get very busy. 23rd June 2024.
