Good novice walk with amazing views once you reach the top. You can see right out to Liverpool, The Wirral and North Wales from the top. You can drive 80% of the way up if you so wish but, why would you? There are multiple routes to the top with great views and landscapes to peak your interest. There's also a great history to Winter Hill which is well worth a Google and read before you head off. Whilst this is a relatively easy walk it's worth noting that there are some routes up that will be tricky at times and as always weather can amplify the the difficulty of any walk something that is worth noting that whatever route you take. The hardest part of this picturesque walk is the last 100ft so be prepared if you're not used to steep inclines. It's well worth the effort once you get there though. From the amazing panoramic views to the monuments and castles that adorn the summit. So bring your best camera you won't regret it. The views of the night sky are incredible but, light pollution from surrounding towns and city's will hinder your photography accordingly.
