Stayed here with our almost 1yo for two nights. Given the high reviews on here, we had high expectations. Upon arriving the first thing we saw was a sign stating "don't litter or you will be persecuted". I hate littering, but this came across as harsh, like they will cut of your hand or something. In all the lodge there are unwelcome sings like this to be found "clean up after yourselves I am not your mom" or something like this. Not our humor and also quite harsh in our opinion. The welcomeletter whe got in our room was kind until the last sentences. Stating there where woman and children around so no drunk, vile drunken behavior. Why just because woman and children present. Like all the men condone and act out this kind of behavior? My husband felt appalled because he feels excluded. Why so strict in wording. Also with being careful with water. Of course we are. Those strictness is just not necessary in my opinion. It felt weird to us once more. Our room could have been cleaner, there where many spiders inside. Breakfast was fine, the bed was small and too soft. They don't account for small babies, no baby cot and or high chair. The first we experienced this in our Holliday. When checking out we wanted breakfast, but the kitchen was closed, even though we still would have 15 minutes. Checking out was hard, no staff to be found, we still had to pay for breakfast from the morning before. We tried calling but telephone reception was poor. Craving breakfast we decided to leave and call after getting reception. Eventually we got to pay via link via WhatsApp. But still felt unwelcoming.

As far as locations go, this is almost perfect. It's up in the hills next to easily accessible forest walks and cycle tracks/trails, although it does require a tough cycle back uphill at the end of the day, if you're not driving. There are houses nearby which can be a little noisy, but the campsite itself was quiet enough during our visit. The main gripe was that the land is mostly sloped, so it can be difficult to find a flat spot for tents. However it's clean and the amenities are well maintained, plus there is access to food and drink if needed. The nearest shop is otherwise a long walk away.

Absolutely appalling 3 nights One was too many In the middle of nowhere The roads in are very rough No food available Room cold The bed was broken Not very clean Someone had the bright idea to paint over the altro floor in the bathroom, which is cold and damp, so paint all over my feet every time I went in pictures available No were to dry towels, so towels were wet all the time The electric heater in n room was useless My mate in the next room had to wash in the shower as the water heater didn't work Avoid this place

Just returned home from a lovely stay at lodge 4 We took our 2 huskies and 2 little dogs. The lodge had everything you would need for a stay, the TV signal wasn't working (wales lost anyway) but we took a radio. I advise guests to do the same. The cabin is so beautiful and hosts amazing views. It had a fridge, immaculate cooker and sink, also a microwave. I am boarding on ocd so I took all my own bedding cups, cutlery and slept on top of what was there, I didn't use the shower facilities as we only stayed 1 night and we live a 20 minute journey away. Advice: if your looking for somewhere to relax in peace and feel home from home, to entertain yourselves in an idyllic setting with no interference from others, this place is for you. You can watch the bikers carry out fantastic stunts on the trails, walk the dogs through woodland and paths taking in the fantastic beauty this area has to offer. If you want to be waited on hand and foot and require every need attended to instantly then its not going to be your cup of tea! It's luxury for people who enjoy the camping lifestyle. We weren't lucky enough to book the dining experience in the domes however they looked fantastic. We hired the bbq but couldn't get it lit (our fault not that of the park) We left the next morning at the break of dawn and as there was no facilities open we left the cabin exactly as we found it.

We would love...

I’m just wrapping up my last day at Bryn Bettws Lodge, Log Cabins & Campsite, Afan Forest, and I can hardly believe how quickly my short two-night stay turned into a relaxing four nights! This place is simply amazing—I can’t rave about it enough!

From the moment I arrived, the owners welcomed me with such warmth and friendliness. They genuinely went above and beyond to make sure I felt right at home. The tranquil walks, the breathtaking views, and the overall serenity of the lodge were just what I needed to recharge.

I’ve already decided I’m coming back at the end of the month with my fur babies, and I can’t wait! If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway, Bryn Bettws is the perfect spot. Whether you choose one of the cosy cabins or opt for a log cabin with a hot tub, you’re in for a treat. The entire site and the cabins are kept spotless, which only adds to the charm.

I did miss out on the walking group this time around, but that just gives me something to look forward to on my next visit. Huge thanks to the owners for such a wonderful stay. I’ll definitely be back, and I encourage anyone needing a little escape to check...
