Just had two nights at the Fox's Lair
Pros Nearby to Aberfoyle and Callendar Can get an Indian takeaway delivered! Lovely and cosy looking with the fairy lights, candles and fire The bedroom had hot air which was great All equipped with tea, coffee, cutlery, pots and pans etc The complimentary bottle of prosecco was a nice touch Electricity free so you can completely switch off from phones etc Nearby Go Ape Lovely nature walks nearby too The experience of camping but warmer and can grab a shower! Dressing gowns provided
Cons The inside bed is so short. If you're tall you aren't going to be able to fit in it. My 6ft 3 partner ended up having to sleep on the couch outside as he physically couldn't lie down on it due to being so short. I'm 5ft 5 and very petite but even I was struggling. We didn't sleep very well as a result.
It's not as secluded as you're led to believe. The noise of the traffic is really loud and you can hear and see your neighbours who weren't even being loud.
It would've been better if the bath was bigger for two people instead of both squeezing in it, as that's the whole concept of being a romantic getaway
The compostable toilet is a bit stinky but that's to be expected
If you enjoy camping and escaping from social media for a few days you will enjoy this place. We would definitely go back if we could bring a camp bed for my tall...
Read moreWhat a magical, special place to us. This is our second stay at the Dreamcatcher’s cabins and again, we loved every minute of the experience.
If you are someone that struggles with the hectic, busyness of your everyday life, then this place will be perfect for you.
My partner and I run our own business and have a one year old so we rarely get to switch off. When we stumbled upon this place on Instagram it couldn’t have came at a better time.
Having barely any phone signal and being cooped up in a cabin in the woods is exactly what we needed. You have everything you will need to enjoy a weekend break. Each time we come we reconnect as a couple, enjoying good chat, board games, outdoor bath and spending time listening to all the beautiful surrounding wildlife.
All your worries leave instantly! All you need to worry about is who’s shot is it to go fetch more firewood haha!
The owners are wonderful people and have done an amazing job at making this place so special. We will definitely be back - I think this is our new favourite spot...
Read moreDreamcatcher Cabins are just wonderful! We loved our two night stay and it was exactly what we’d hoped it would be - chilled, cosy, full of nature (the robins ain’t on their first rodeo and know exactly what they are doing), rustic yet luxurious, and just fabulous. We had coveted these cabins since their opening, and never quite got around to going. Yes, they’re on the more expensive side, but you get what you pay for. Complete trust and seclusion, a beautifully built cabin in the woods with everything you need (as much firewood as you like, a bottle of fizz, more candles than you could ever need, heating in the bedroom and cards and games hidden under the bed), hosts that don’t bother you unless you need them, and an incredible bath in the trees and nature with a glass of bubbly by your side. Trust me, it’s worth every penny and more. Dreamcatcher Cabins are simply magic. Thank you very much. I turned 50 here and couldn’t think of anywhere...
