This is the most amazing place I have ever been to. I have now been 3 times over 2 years. Each time for a week. This is a spiritual eco village. Part of there income comes from offering retreats and workshops abit like a mystery spiritual school of life or the universe. The atmosphere is unbelievable. I have never witnessed so many people greeting and smiling with such love. Everyone is included. Everyone makes you feel so welcome. The food is amazing most of it from the peaceful organic gardens which you may get to work on. Or you may get to work in the kitchens to provide the food for the community this work truly is love in action. The retreats and people running them are also amazing, wise and kind. They hold the silence and embrace the nature. The scenery is second to none. Close to the beach and woodlands. You will find lots of quite peaceful areas and meditation areas. All the building are unique and wonderful to look at. Everyone needs to experience this place with an open mind and heart. They are now offering online material, talks and workshops in the pandemic. I hope they open again soon. In the mean time I’m joining a few online talks to help them survive. I would recommend if you need a bit of spiritual rocket fuel for the mind and soul.
Thank you...

I stopped off on a long bike ride needing to refill my water bottle. I use the Refill app that lists places that are part of the movement to reduce plastic water bottle waste by offering refills. The foundation wasn't on it, but I assumed it was an oversight considering it's planet friendly ethos. Sadly I was mistaken. I'm sure they would have filled my bottle if I'd used the cafe, but I didn't have time. I had planned to buy food in the shop in gratitude for the service, which I did anyway and ended up buying drinks in plastic bottles and cartons - Findhorn-fail 🙈 poor planet 🌍 💣 The shop worker was embarrassed and very apologetic, but didn't know if the water in the public toilets was drinkable, not a pleasant place to top up. I was disappointed that an organisation with the foundations ethos isn't pioneering stuff like this. The staff were friendly, if unable to help, the variety in the shop was very good. If my visit had been for any other reason I'd give a higher score, but sadly too much plastic and too little plastic avoidance. Costa Coffee 5 miles away are in the Refill scheme, I'll go...
Read moreMy first visit to Findhorn and it did not disappoint. I spent the whole day there wandering around and went to the beach and found the labyrinth. The cafe does a good selection of food and I had brunch. Avocado, sun dried tomatoes with scrambled eggs on sourdough, plus a healthy spirulina smoothie. I also visited the Phoenix shop and spent about two hours there as so much to look at. Free parking which is cool. Lots of healthy organic food and options that are hard to find in local supermarkets eg wider range of eco friendly products. Apparently you can book a guided tour and there’s also self guided tours - I might do guided next time so I can ask about the energy points! Ley lines etc There was community drumming going on and a lovely wee circle meeting I witnessed in the ‘magic triangle’ You can also camp here or pod it at Findhorn which I think is a great idea as there’s so much more to explore locally eg Torres and national trust...
