Kilallan Trout Fishery — Local services in Scotland

Just had my first visit to Lawfield Trout Fishery. What an amazing day! Fish are challenging at times, and location is visually stunning as well as the perfect location for fly fishing. Chris and his wife were incredibly welcoming and both very informative. The site is a natural fishery, very well maintained, male and female toilets and a shop for any food or beverages needed. My niece and nephew 4 years and 5 years, also popped round and had a go retrieving as well as wondering a little and really enjoying it. Other anglers were very friendly too. The last two things I want to mention are the loyalty card which you get stamped 8 times and receive a free day and veterans discount! If you are a veteran I would pay Lawfield a visit. Everything I have mentioned previously and the veterans discount is all the reason needed to go.

My ten year old son had had a fly casting lesson the previous weekend and I brought him to Lawfield to have a half days fishing.

It was a great day!

Both the staff and other anglers were extremely friendly and supportive, offering advice and successful flies to us.

The lake itself was very picturesque and the fishing top notch with free rising, hard fighting trout.

Most importantly my son enjoyed immensely, hooking several fish and landing a good rainbow and a very pretty tiger trout.
