Lochter Activity Centre — Local services in Scotland

Fantastic range of activities. Quite expensive but worth it. Organised and led well. Scorecard provided which the team fill out with your times or points etc. for each activity. They are friendly, encouraging and patient, which is important when you’re trying an activity for the first time! Go-karting: my favourite. Great track based on Silverstone, fast karts, helpful team, organised well with practice, time trials and then a race. No overalls provided, just balaclava and helmet. I should have brought gloves to avoid blister Air rifles: I found it difficult but the man was patient with me. You get to take away your target showing how accurate you were! Archery: Technique explained well and easy to pick up quickly. They add up your score for you. Digger driving: It’s more digger controlling, but a load of fun! To achieve the task you need precision and coordination 4x4 blindfold driving: Oh wow, it’s difficult, but really fun. Excellent teamwork needed

Did 2 activities (segways and go-karting) and had lunch as part of a small group. Best first impressions were from all the staff who were so friendly and helpful, both in the restaurant as well as the instructors and owner. The food was excellent - and we ordered plenty of variety - everyone enjoyed. The go-karting was excellent too, great sized outdoor track, decent fast karts. Our only disappointment was with the segways. Having paid for 4 people for the usual 45 minute or so slot, we were only given 1 Segway to share, making it about 10 minutes per person. We had been specifically looking for a segways experience, which was how we ended up at Lochter in the first place rather than somewhere nearer home, so do wish we had known that it would have been one to share between the group before booking. Shocking , worst days fishing I've had , I'm no professional but I have fished for a few years including Lochter previously but the loch conditions and fish conditions have went seriously downhill. The main cluster of lochs is so full of algae it little wander hardly anyone was fishing and those who were didn't stay long. The super dooper the super dooper leaping trout shaped loch across the road was a bit clearer as far as water clarity is concerned but it's so full of weed it's hardly worth the effort and can only be fished from one or two places. It's very clear to me that Lochter now is only interested in catering for the numerous other activities and the fishing side has been sidelined.
