September update: 05/09/22 11am walk As expected we had a sensational time! Rachel was our kind and she was so sweet! You can really tell she is passionate about her job and role at the farm. I walked an Llama called Oreo, my MIL walked an alpaca called Enrique and my partner walked an alpaca called Eclipse. We all had great fun listening to all the alpaca fact from Rachel and she even pointed out to us the newborn (not so newborn now) alpaca we saw when we came last. I believe they called him Gollum! It was lovely to see the baby goats now grown up but still so small and cute. It is overall a lovely experience which will never lose its novelty. Thank you to Rachel for making it yet another wonderful experience!!
had a AMAZING time here! Did the 1pm walk 08/06/22 with Laura as our guide. She was extremely informative, experienced and all round lovely. She answered all our questions and shouted out loads of alpaca facts the whole walk. I was walking with Monaco, who had a gorgeous temperament! On the walk you go around the whole farm and you get to see all the animals, which was very refreshing. Half way through you get to the top of the hill where you can take pictures and let the alpacas graze the grass for about 10 minutes and luckily we had the best weather on our walk so that really made the experience even better. I’m absolutely obsessed with the baby goats inside the barn! I think they’re absolutely adorable!! The staff here are really friendly (especially Laura and the Lady in the gift shop with short/mid length brown hair) and you can tell they care about all the animals, which is really nice to see. Whilst we were here we even had the pleasure of seeing a newborn alpaca who had been born right before our walk was due to start. After the walk we visited the mum and baby (see photo). My mil and myself enjoyed ourselves so much we’re coming back in September when we...
Read moreI paid a visit here on Saturday with my mum as part of a holiday to the Isle of Wight to attend an alpaca walk. Upon walking in to the farm & interacting with staff, we knew this was going to be a great visit. We were warmly welcomed with a smile & was clearly informed about where different facilities were & where the alpaca walk started from. I had the pleasure of walking Amadeus as I admitted that I was a little nervous about the upcoming experience beforehand & my mum walked Breeze. The alpaca walk was 40 minutes long & in my opinion, this wasn’t long enough because it was so enjoyable; walking around an alluring setting with an alpaca next to you is not something you get to do everyday! :) We had Mildred leading our walk & she made the experience very interesting; I learned so many facts about alpacas & llamas which I didn’t know before & it made both my mum & I feel closer to our alpacas we were walking. Following the walk, we were invited to spend more time at the farm, in which we bought a £1.50 large cup of feed & walked around the premises feeding the alpacas, llamas & other animals they had there. It was such a wholesome experience & you truly felt at one with the animals. If you are reading this & debating whether to visit West Wight Alpacas & Llamas, definitely go for it! It’s such a lovely place to be & was one of my highlights from our holiday; I will definitely be returning the next time I come on holiday to the Isle...
Read moreWe had the best time here highly recommend! We had an 11am alpaca walk booked so arrived there at 10 to see the other animals beforehand. We booked the walk online and the entry fee was free with the walk. We bought some animal feed from the counter. We met some very lovely goats the baby ones were so cute! Saw lots of rabbits and Guinea pigs. Outside some baby lamb that had just been born a few weeks ago. We hadn’t realised how big the farm was as were met with lots of chicken, different types of birds turkeys ducks etc. pigs, donkeys and of course llama and alpacas. There was a group of about 9/10 on the alpaca walk. We had to walk to the upper end of the farm and the lady explaining how to handle the alpacas was very helpful and knowledgeable and you can see that they are very well looked after. I had Dangerous Dave who wasn’t dangerous at all. The weather was lovely so the walk was nice there was a pit stop half way for alpacas to eat and photo opportunities, all together it was about 50 mins. You can share an alpaca or have one each, defo recommend walking your own! Will be back again. Recommend walking boots or trainers that you don’t mind...
