SECOND REVIEW - 31/07/22 The house and grounds are still so impressive to see. On this occasion, I stayed in one of their budget rooms (Queen Elizabeth Hall) and it was just as good as any of the Travelodge/Premier Inn hotels I've stayed at. Budget, yes, perfectly adequate, yes, especially as breakfast was included. It's a shame that their WiFi for guests is still pretty dreadful - unsecured and a pain to set up. When you do connect, your connection is intercepted and filter for content (fine for the minors who you have a duty of care for, but not for the parents, visitors and business people who visit, surely?) This, coupled together with the fact there is very little or no mobile network coverage (Lilleshall house is in the middle of nowhere), makes for a pretty dreadful experience of communicating with the outside world (however, some may find this a blessing 🤷‍♂️) I have seen visible changes since my last visit and there are notes pinned up in areas that say "You asked for..." followed by "We provided you with..." so they are working on improving the services, which is good. FIRST REVIEW: Main house is incredibly clean and tidy. Our room, was no exception and the staff were kind and welcoming. However, the WiFi was pretty dreadful wherever you tried connecting. My advice would be to invest in some WiFi because what you have is a little sub standard.

3 stars sounds harsh but bear with me. We had a room in the very impressive old Victorian Hall and the room was well decorated, expansive, clean and tidy with a modern heating/cooling system. Finding the complex was easy enough BUT the signs for the Hall/Hotel were non-existent and proved very frustrating. We arrived around 6:30pm and on phoning the number provided went to voicemail, the reception now being closed. We did not hear back from them. We parked up behind Kent Hall (and had our first sighting of the Hall from here) and my wife walked to the old hall. The staff seen there were rude and uncaring and flapped a hand in the general direction of the reception area. We then had to suffer the same staff again as she/they flapped a hand in the general direction our room might be in. There were no complimentary toiletries, soap or shower gel in the room and not enough tea bags and milk for two even for a one night stay. Wi-fi certificate had expired and was now unsecure! A good spread for breakfast but most of the cooked items were luke warm. The grounds are beautiful and well kept.

We stayed in the sports centre accomodation. You can either stay in the hall for a higher price or stay in the sports centre which is a separate building. Positives: Rooms were clean enough, WiFi is good and there is air conditioning. Staff are friendly and the grounds are very pretty. Not bad value for money as the sports rooms are approx £60-90 per night. Negatives: Accessibility to the grounds isn't great, there are a lot of steps and pebble paths. Some automatic doors within the accomodation don't have sensors so you end up getting crushed by the door if you don't have assistance from someone. NB: The checkout time is 09:30am, which is a little early in my opinion. Most accommodations have a check out time of around 11am.

I stayed at Lilleshall hall hotel last week for a Christmas work event, the night itself was wonderful and a lot of effort had gone into making it festive, the Christmas Dinner was great and the room was decorated well, could not fault the evening…. However my stay at the hotel and our guest room was not to the same standards.|There was no signal in the area and the wi-fi was not working, the reception couldn’t help, they said everyone is having issues with it although the receptionist was sat using her mobile.|I noticed there was no hairdryer in the room and I asked for one I was told that there should be one in every room and someone would bring me one… 90mins later, still no hairdryer. I went down to reception again to be greeted with a new receptionist who told me she couldn’t do anything about it, I got annoyed as I was told I was going to be brought one so she agreed (eventually) to get one to me, it arrived 20mins later. |The room for 2 guests only had a bath mat and two small towels to shower with not even a hand towel, not useful when the sink being a rounded bowl couldn’t handle the tap being on more than a dribble as it washed up and spilled all over the floor. |Morning after our do, we headed down to breakfast just after 9.15 which was served until 10 to empty trays and was told to help ourselves to very little, there was no sausage, tomato or mushrooms they had ran out. The server told us they wasn’t told of the numbers staying and didn’t have enough. |Such a shame as the place overall is beautiful and the night time party was great but customer service not a very strong point and staff are less than helpful, even when I expressed my concerns via email I was given a uninterested response.||Definitely would go back for a night out but stay at the premier in down...

Beautiful hotel inside out, we had 3 rooms and the rest of my family had 3 rooms so in total 6 rooms. Each room had different layouts and sizes, they looked beautiful and clean this could be due to the fact all rooms were refurbished. 1 of the room had toilet seat broken, the room was changed straight away upon informing reception regarding the toilet seat. Garden area was beautiful. Breakfast was perfect, but we found he scramble egg dry.||Cons are the check out is at 1030am, even though this was actually mentioned on the Booking.com we did not notice until we placed our booking.. when we realised we contacted the hotel straight away only to be told we would be charged £45 per room is we wanted to do a let checkout at 12pm (£45 for per room just yo stay 1 hour 30mims extra, ridiculous.. we only paid £65 per room per night), couldn’t cancel the booking as it was non refundable.. during checkin we humbly requested if they could allow at least one of the rooms for an extra one hour (11:30am check out) but the receptionist showed us a yellow note saying it said we were told any late checkout would be £45 per room and she couldn’t do anything but charge £45 even if it is for an hour late checkout.|Lift was vey noisy… however Louise in the restaurant put a smile in our face, she was so supportive, we had a 2 year old son who loves his warm milk, when my wife approached Louise, Louise told my wife she would arrange warm milk for my 2 year old and she did, she also told my wife to go back at 10am and she would give full up our baby bottle with warm milk in case he needs another feed during our journey. She was really nice and very helpful.. though the check out made us very unhappy, Louise at least put a smile on our face…...
