Moss Nook Lake — Local services in St Helens

We went as a party of 6 for lake exclusive as it states on website, When we arrived there was already 2 anglers on? Upon speaking to the anglers they informed us it was actually 9 anglers allowed on?? We walked around and it was awfully muddy hard to push a barrow around, There was rubbish everywhere including wipes with excrement on it where someone had pood behind a swim, There was a potent smell of weed coming from the other anglers on, And upon speaking to the bailiff he said the owner decided to make it 9 anglers exclusive not 6 but failed to change it on website and even he said he didn’t agreed with what the owner had decided as every peg was taken with no room to move?? 2 out of 6 of us fished the other 4 left due to the state of the fishery and the smell of weed, They have contacted the fishery owner but he has swerved giving the other lads a full refund! IMO the lake is not very secure...its a bit of a dump and needs to be sold to housing developers as its in a rough area and isn’t a very nice setting so if your into tranquility this is totally the opposite and run solely by the locals! A party of 6 of us had booked on for a bit of a social and we was told don’t arrive no earlier than 11 as other anglers would be still fishing and not leaving until that time but on arrival other anglers had already arrived set up and already fishing for 11 o’clock, so if any fellow anglers are reading this and thinking of going just go when you want because everyone else does.. we thought we had lake exclusive as it stated 6 anglers on web site but one of the anglers that had got there before us said it is 9 in winter, so why didn’t it state that on the web site then.. One of the pegs had wet wipes everywhere and empty tackle packets left lying around.. I’m not one for complaining but if you make rules for a fishery then everyone should stick by them.. i will not go into detail of another issue on there but that was the last straw for me so We left and went to another fishery.. I am local to this lake but will not be...

Well what can I say about this lake. There is always 1 lake that you stumble across that you absolutely fall in love with and this is that lake it has everything I love with an island.sunken island with Lilly pads, weedy with lovely clear spots to fish and the fish are beautiful. The owners and bailiffs are superb and nothing is too much trouble for them and they love nothing more than helping you out if you need it giving you productive spots and productive baits to help you catch.
