A wonderful nature reserve with extensive walks through varied habitats. We set off on foot from the town & were very soon there. We then walked through woodland and downland towards the monument which is the focal point of the area. The potential for wildlife sightings is great but we went in April so only saw limited wild flowers and butterflies. There are relatively flat options, or longer hilly options, but all require walking on tracks not paths, so good footwear is recommended. Great way until Apple Farm, so good to have some cash for a nice surprise on the way. Obelisk, woods, fields, and hill sides in a few Trails, Public Footpath and Public Bridleway.
