WELL!!! What a superb find ๐ extremely pleased with myself having only ust to come from Luton. We are the current " dinky disc" campers . Small, quirky, idyllic and perfect for what we were after. My husband and I were looking for a quick get away that we could get dropped to and picked up from - close by as he is terminally ill and we wanted a stay for my memory bank away from the kids ๐ There is not a human in sight ๐ and it's perfect. On arrival it was stocked up with 2 apple juices, tea coffee hot chocolate and milk , loo roll , kitchen roll, towels ,tea towel, fairy liquid ,2waters๐ I will mention and this is NO reflection on the premises but due to my husband poor health , it is not easy ground to walk on if you're unsteady on your feet , quite a hill actually and 4 steep steps up to the hot tub. The hot tub is for me on this occasion. Hot tub was fresh and ready to roll from 4pm on the day of arrival. It was ROASTING , u can add cold water from the hose but instead I soaked until I looked like a prune and had heat exhaustion๐. We can't make use of the disc golf (again our issue ) but it covers quite a bit of ground down hill and is a great addition if ur fit enough ๐๐ you can order food or a little shop to reception or grab a taxi if need be to anywhere outside the grounds ( nearest pub 6 min in the car - half hour walk). There are 3 walking trails ๐ฃ The podcast it's self is small and quirky . I ADORE all the additional touches . The records , lights , crockery, stools. A FANTASTIC use of space and great attention to detail . A derelict old school little mini as your wood store ๐ AGAIN - our problem was 1 of us not been very mobile the bed area is quite tight and you have to scrunch your legs up to get out . NO WAY REFLECTS ON YOUR TIME HERE , just giving the heads up if again u have a health issue x but it's not called DINKY 4 nothing ๐๐
I will definitely return and ๐ฏ need to check out EVERY single one of the glamping areas .
Ps. My only moan and I mean I'm scrapig the barrel here ๐๐ the out door chairs are very uncomfortable ๐ I've padded them out with the throws from the bed -but that's just me and my bony self ๐
ENJOY EVERY MIN IN THE WILDERNESS. YOU WONT BE...
ย ย ย Read moreAfter a warm and friendly welcome on arrival, we were delighted to find a well stocked and branded hospitality tray in the kitchenette. There was also milk, orange juice, water, biscuits and even personalised chocolate and wild flower seeds! The bathroom also contained a good selection of toiletries. In the absence of a TV, the dvd and selection of films in the โsitting areaโ were a good idea. The radio, however, did not work. | What a great start to our couple of days in Owlโs Lookout.|We have stayed in many quirky properties (treehouses, planes, boats, yurts to name a few) so knew there would be the odd cobweb, creepie crawlie etc especially being in the country and amongst trees etc. |However, we were not expecting the amount of dust and cobwebs that were everywhere. A year ago, a review said it was โspotlessโ. Not sure whatโs happened since โฆ|We found the mattress uncomfortable and the bedding thin. 2 single (?) duvets on a double bed. The king size room opposite was locked and obviously out of bounds to us.|The bathroom contained a wet room. Any gaps in the walls had been plugged with what looked like toilet paper! The electric shower unit was filthy and even had mould on the bottom.|I presume if the weather had been warmer, we may have enjoyed using the outdoor bbq/fire pit. |Whilst appreciating you pay extra for the quirky ness and the location of this property, this did not feel like value for money.|We decided to leave after one night and, sadly, wonโt be recommending for a romantic...
ย ย ย Read moreFrom the moment we arrived, we felt completely welcomed and looked after. Nigel greeted us warmly and shared a fascinating history of our shepherdโs hut, which added a lovely personal touch to our stay. We even ended up chatting about horses โ which felt so fitting, as our beautiful naaaabours for the weekend were two gorgeous horses who clearly sensed our love for them and kept coming over for fuss and cuddles. A real highlight!||The hut itself was spotless on arrival, cosy, and thoughtfully prepared. We were greeted with a wonderful welcome basket filled with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, snacks, juice, and fresh milk waiting in the fridge โ such a kind and appreciated gesture. The cooking facilities (microwave & toaster) were perfect for light bites, but we mostly used the fire pit BBQ, which was fantastic and added to the outdoorsy charm.||The luxury touches truly made this glamping trip feel extra special โ the massive bath, outdoor rainfall shower, and whisky barrel hot tub were just perfect for pure relaxation. We ended each day soaking, unwinding, and feeling totally spoiled.||We also gave Disc Golf a go โ absolutely hilarious! The hilly course gave our legs a proper workout and our abs too from all the laughter.||This little getaway gave us the peace and escapism we were craving. We left feeling genuinely rested and recharged. Weโve already recommended it to friends and will definitely be back. Thank you so much,...
