The course itself was in tip top condition and proved to be very challenging all-be-it fairly long. If you are a visitor (as I was) be well aware of the water hazards, ditches and slopes of the fairways into non ball finding areas (look out for elephants!). Straight driving is essential. Clubhouse was rather sad although the catering was very good and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The quality of greens was not too disastrous but the fairways were almost like the rough??? we use many local courses and can accept seasonal issues and ground under repair but this was just not anywhere near the quality of Torrington, High Bullen and even Portmoor. Generally the fairways are wide and welcoming, the greens however are painfully slow. Quite a hilly course that would be hard work in cold wet co ditions or very hot conditions, some great use of the lay of the land ... 3rd 8th 16th and 17th spring to mind. Really is a shame about...
