Valley Farm Pizza — Local services in Vale of White Horse

Absolutely cracking pizza but horrendously run, can’t cope with multiple orders, long delayed wait times and poor service/attitude.

Pre ordered for a collection at 5.45pm with my daughter, a single Margherita pizza. Was told on arrival with an almost challenge-us-if-you-dare sliminess that they were running behind, there was a bit of a wait, and they would call my name when ready. (Bearing in mind exact same thing had been said with lengthy wait time two weeks prior). But fair enough overall really.

With small toddler getting more and more restless, we saw multiple people come up and collect their pizzas, some who drove up and collected straight away, so doubt they knew about the apparent half hour delay for even one simple pizza.

Eventually, after 30 minutes of waiting and multiple collections going in front, including people walking up and ordering on the spot and getting their pizzas before myself and my daughter, my name was called, and a cold margherita was grabbed from a pile of pizzas. Which were just on the side behind the counter, so could have been passed out at any point presumably.

Overall just lacking customer service and any decent process. To be fair, the girl who gave the pizza was very apologetic, and was a definite ‘don’t shoot the messenger’ kind of situation, but the lady who I think was the manager was rude when we first arrived and it went downhill from there really. We stay local, and only recently decided to try their pizza! It was just before closing (8pm), but the young lady making the pizza agreed to make us one. Pizza was Italian base with good amount of toppings. Enjoyed it rolled up like a calzone! Served just on the dot 8pm!

Prices are fair (on higher end -£12), but for an occasional treat happy to pay.

Really good pizza, beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff. I definitely recommend this place. I’ve been ordering from this place with my family for years minimum 1x a week and not planning to change anytime soon. My only criticism is sometimes the pizza is slightly undercooked and the dough, although thin, can get a bit chewy that way. It’s understandable that in a fast paced environment staff try hard to cook as many pizzas in the shortest amount possible but I highly recommend prioritising quality of the food!
