Absolutely stunning walk. There are plenty of off tracks to walk to the edge of the water, so there are lots of drinking opportunities for thirsty pooches. If you love being with Mother Nature, this walk will not disappoint. It took us around 2.5 hours to complete, allowing for photo opportunities and the odd 5 minute rest. Depending on your starting point, you will have some B road walking, which was easy with hardly any traffic. Dog walkers BEWARE...what they don't warn you of is some of the entry and exit points along the road walk are styles and if you have a large dog, as we do, you will not get your dog through and you'll have to double back. Read moreCare must be taken due to rough ground which makes it not suitable for people with walking difficulties but the scenery of the area is beautiful and can be seen from the lay-by. At present due to low water levels a bridge can be seen at Northern end of reservoir, fishing is also available but permits required. Much of the walk is along the road so this is something to be mindful of with young children but there are plenty of picnic stops and you can walk much of the perimeter along the fishing routes which are beautiful woodland.
