My self ,my.girlfriend, our boy and my mum visited this railway during a stay in cumbria this month,we found the railway friendly, well.presemted, they had a lovely model railway display which was very nicely done with a couple well detailed layouts with a variety of trains running around, ,the train ride was short and sweet,it was a lovely old dmu that ran the service that day, think it was one of the old the communter specials that used to ferry the workers to offices in the capital in the 70.s and 80.s,there is a poor old diesel engine parked in a siding, hopefully it will be restored soon,I recommend going there and seeing and enjoying the railway for what it is,which is a small railway trying to make its way...

The Thumper was superb, had a run up the line and back. Plans are in the pipeline to extend the line to Appleby, which will be superb for the railway regarding accessibility, for the time being, it is a car journey away. Can see a lot of potential in this railway for the enthusiasts in the not too distant future, would be great behind a diesel locomotive. Set in beautiful surroudings. Top marks to all at...
