This is an absolutely great and fun place to visit and there is something for people of all ages. The Great part about the place is the nostalgia and the fact the rides take you back to bygone era. The other brilliant aspect that works very well and the place performs very well is blending the museum aspect detailing the history of the Fairground, the families, how the people involved lived and the rides themselves with the interactive side by going on some of the rides such as The Dodgems, Ghost Train, Gallopers and Moonrockets. All of the displays are beautifully and fabulously presented and are very informative with some interesting facts to learn along the way. The rides themselves are in a great condition and are extremely fun, engaging, enjoyable, entertaining and interactive and both adults and children will love them. To go on the rides there are tokens you have to buy and some of the rides may require more than token. The cost of the tokens are £1 each and can be purchased from the entrance desk or inside the rides area. There is also some side stalls and additional entertainment such as Hook a Duck, Shooting Salon and the Arcade area where you can win some prizes and some of these may require tokens or 2p coins to be used on them but again they are great and very nostalgic just like the rides. Wjen you look at the rides, the atmosphere and the history you realise we have the people and these peole to thank for places like Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures today. There is a hot food wagon selling a range of food and drink at reasonable prices and there is a gift shop selling a small selection of gifts at reasonable prices. The staff on site are also very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the Fairground and the families involved giving some informative interesting facts. Overall this a fabulous underrated place to visit and one that is extremely enjoyable and interactive for both adults and children's and is very nostalgic for...
Read moreThis is a lovely place to take a wide range of ages. My Dad loved looking at the old vehicles and travelling caravans and steam organs. My oldest two enjoyed the rides and 2p machines and there was plenty for my little niece and nephew to do. I think in honesty you'd want to take little ones to get the most out of it. A huge part of the fun for us was taking the little ones on their first rides. The place works on a tokens system which make a family saver ticket good value. It has lost one star because I'm honesty you could tell it had been "hit by the times" in our most recent visit. Many of the organs were not in operation and there were many staff so waiting for and accessing rides was quite a bit more clunky than before but don't get me wrong the staff worked as hard as Miss Rabbit from Peppa pig! They put people's safety first and tried their hardest to make it a good experience. We did eat there and it was a brilliant traditional funfair feast of burgers, hot dogs and candy floss which made it feel even more like the good old days. Rides are on average 2 tokens per person so they go quickly when you have two hours to kill we needed 60 tokens for four kids and their "responsible adults" to access the rides. Just to try and give people an idea! I would say go because the more people go the better it will get and it would be heart breaking to loose a lovely place like this. It isn't dear and it is fun let's...
Read moreOverall ....Great attraction full of nostalgic fun! Having visited with an 11yr old we all found something to do and the time flew by. The place is surprisingly big and it really wasn't overcrowded so getting to use the rides and side stalls was a simple process and the staff were all extremely helpful and friendly.
My only gripe comment would be on pricing, even though there were only 3 of us we bought a family ticket priced at £52 which is a hefty amount these days but it worked out as better value seeing as it included 20 tokens to use. With that said, each ride or stall is between 2/3 tokens a go 'per person' and as such, tokens soon go. We ended up purchasing significantly more tokens (priced at £1 per token) to get the most out of the attractions which made it quite a costly day out and by comparison to other attractions in the region it lacks some value for money in this sense.... But it is unique to a degree so it would seem this may be the reason for the pricing structure. I would urge management to review pricing in the current economic climate and allow more visitors to be able to enjoy Dingles as it deservedly should be accessible to more people.
Still thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless and a nice change from the...
