A short but taxing, steep, uneven hike uphill north of Princetown leads one to North Hessary. Site of an overbearing phone mast which dwarfs the once stunning tor into a pile of stones between it's feet. The view, however, is well worth the challenging walk, reaching to Plymouth Sound on a clear day and ranging 20 miles in a full 360 degrees. Dartmoor should be renamed and classified as a Nature Reserve, not a National Park. Too many people take the word Park literally, and destroy the landscape by playing on it with trail bikes, 4x4 vehicles, illegal or thoughtless camping, and more. Dartmoor is beautiful, serene, precious, and must remain so.

A nice Tor that is one of the many interesting sites that you can see on a short hike outside of Princetown.
