Unbelievably poor today, and not just the fishing !!! Ok the weather was icy but an update on Facebook or the website would have been nice to say 90% of the water was ice. Having spent an hour travelling to the venue we were greeted with there's only 6 spots to fish from. Omg my garden pond is bigger than the only ice free body of water available to fish properly. Despite this the owner was more than happy to bringing his payment pad round and charge £30 for a few hours fishing. Completely ripped off as he said we'd have to pay for 3 hours because he doesn't have a price tarrif for 2 hours. And there were 6 real spot to fish, I'd say 3 maximum. The fishery should have been CLOSED with notice given on the website!!!!

As we left he didn't have the decency to stand up out of his office and thank us for our custom or say goodbye for that matter. Let alone perhaps offer a gesture of a small discount on our next visit. Not that it would matter as there's no way we are going back there. We've been about 5 times before as it's our nearest fishery and it's very average at best. It's never been good enough to leave positive feedback nor has it been bad enough to leave negative feedback until today that is !! I'll gladly travel extra to fish a better water and with better hospitality. Irrespective of the weather I would strongly recommend avoiding this fishery to anyone contemplating it for the first time. Absolute joke of a...

The surroundings were brilliant and natural looking. The big letdown though was the shear amount of weeds on the lakes. Every other cast I pulled in I ended up with half a Forrest on my fly. I saw them raking in some weeds today in all fairness but it is something they should be keeping on top of so it does not get to this stage. A slight feeling of neglect as well with a couple of the small jetties broken and unable to access. The walkway on the back lake was completely submerged and you could not walk across it. Yes it might have been raining recently but it should have been designed better and raised higher for our inclement British weather. Usually do well here. Had some very nice rainbow and brownies. I actually learnt to fly fish here with a couple of lessons. Its a nice place with a selection of 6 or 7 lakes. Tgeres a free brew cabin with a micriwave. Very handly fir a quick rustlers burger. Staff always freindly and very helpfull. But. On this last occasion I blanked!
