Church Paddock Lake — Local services in Winchester

We bumped into someone this week who said this was Winchester’s best kept secret, with a beautiful lake view full of wildlife. We popped in today for a lovely peaceful cup of tea outside in the sun watching all the birds, ducks, fish and a pair of resident swans go by 🦢 🦢. We had a chat with the lovely owner Jamie who told us about the history of the place and all the tasty local trout he’s busy smoking for Christmas orders. It’s the low season now so the cafe is just open for tea and coffee but if you message in advance then they do cream teas, picnics, full BBQs/just BBQ hire. second time and first time catch fly fishing for trout at a still water lake caught 2 rainbow trout first one was bigger weighing 6 lb 15 oz which made my day!! :) second one weighing just below six i think both caught withing a hour of fishing stalking the big trout ahaha lovely day out beautiful lake and location very reasonably priced good value for money compared to the other fisheries very nice guy and very helpful definitely recommend, will be going again...

A little bit of heaven, lovely small lake, gives you the chance to relax , catch nice fish. You an also enjoy the ambience , of the seating area overlooking the lake enjoy a glass of wine, or coffee. When I got there , guidance was being given to young and up coming fisherman. A prefect place for a day out, when school has broken up. Cost , it is one of the best priced lakes around Hampshire. They also smoke their own fish, so you can buy some for that...
