Hebert Slaughter House & Meat — Local services in Abbeville

Just stopping in to report that I called in to place an order and was greeted by the most unprofessional individual. There were Vietnamese people speaking in the background of my phone call and the woman who answered the phone began to aggressively inform me that she doesn’t speak that language and I would need to talk in English before I was ever able to say hello. I am an English speaking white woman, who also does not speak Vietnamese. At some point I was intentionally hung up on. I called back and was screamed at by the same employee to “SPEAK!” And that she didn’t have time to “play” with me today. Again, unbelievably unprofessional. I asked to speak to an owner or manager and she informed me she owned the business. I quite honestly can’t imagine that to be true from her lack of customer service. I can’t imagine anyone who would want to do business with someone who treats their clientele like that. If this were my business I’d want to know that whoever is answering the phone during business hours is borderline racist and running paying...

It pains me to have to write a review such as this. I'm 68 years old and have been going to Hebert's Slaughter House f/k/a "Clements" all of my life. I used to be able to brag that their Crackling or "Gratons" were the Best in Louisiana.

However, on my last visit today, Monday 5/20/3024, I noticed that the crackling were cut smaller and much chewier...not good when you're looking for crispy crackling. They were also greasier than ever.

Finally, the oil smelt rancid and not fresh. It's obvious that these Gratons were not "Double Popped" and allowed to soak up the oil/grease.

I have been going to this place since I was a little girl for a 20 years now and always loved it and their service but today I got treated so disrespectful I will never return to this location again. The man that helped me was rude and disrespectful to myself and my niece. He made her eyes water because he was so hateful. I don't know what he got going on in his life to make him such an a-hole to women but it's not right to treat customers like we are...
