My 2019 Expedition died on me at the rest stop on US 431 halfway between Abbeville and Eufaula last Wednesday. I ended up calling for a tow. The driver got my SUV started, but since my Expedition had been acting up on my trip, I felt it was too risky to continue my so the driver followed me 22 miles back to Abbeville to Money Ford. Scott Moore, the Service Manager, took my SUV right in and said he needed to run a test that could take 90 minutes to perform. It was late in the day and I didn't expect to hear from him until Thursday morning. Scott called me before the close of business to tell me it was the starter, he didn't have one and was having a hard time finding one from another Ford dealer but would check with the Ford parts distributor in Georgia in the morning. Turns out the Ford parts house had the starter but Money Ford wouldn't get it until Friday morning. Money Ford Service opens at 7:00 AM. Scott called me at 8:17 AM to tell me my vehicle was ready. In anticipation of getting the starter Scott had his Technician remove the old starter ahead in order to save time. This all sounds normal right? Where I am from you have to make an appointment to have your Ford diagnosed and then make an appointment for the repair which takes weeks for both. Since I was stranded at the local motel, I needed a ride from the motel to Money Ford. Scott said he would have someone pick me up. I got picked up by one of the owners, Matthew Money. Matthew shared with me his shop is 2 to 3 weeks out, but they try to help when they can. Scott was very understanding of my predicament and went to great lengths to get me back on the road. They were so polite, HONEST, and efficient . No back and forth hassle from one person to the next. We spoke with Mills Money, who is also the owner. He gave us a price, evaluated her trade in and and did not play any number games. He stuck with his first price and still gave her a great trade in price. He saved her thousands of dollars, and believe me I know. We have been taking her to dealerships everywhere to look at cars. No one else came close to the deal that we got. Most of all Mr. Money wanted to make sure that She was happy with the car before He even started the deal. These people really care about their customers.
