I had accidentally left my wallet at the self checkout carrying a 50 lb bag of dog food and trying to quickly get back to my 2 month old baby. The wallet was turned into the service desk. They made NO attempt to contact me, my bank, or send anything the mail. I finally received a message request on Facebook from one of the employees two months later. He said my wallet was there and to come get it at the service desk. The day I saw the message was two weeks later. I called and the service desk simply told me it was gone and they probably threw it in the trash. I drove 40 minutes after my 12 hour workday with my infant to talk to them. The manager said they would have shredded the items and give me a check for the cash. So nothing for anything else or the hassle this brings. But there was nothing on file saying what happened to it. I am supposed to take their word that an employee didn't take my money, debit cards, bank cards, and ID. My name and business infornation was clearly on their. A simple Google search and they could have found my phone number and they already had my name and address. I now have to replace all the items. None of this was handled properly as the law states a lost wallet should be turned into a police department if they couldn't contact me. Still have not been given any of my money or gift card for any of the hassle...

She was extremely disrespectful and rude when I went to go ask her for help as we needed assistance checking out. I was unaware she was with another customer and when I went to ask for her help she rudely holds her finger up and makes a shush noise at me and finishes with customer she's helping and as we're walking back to my register with quite a disdainful look she tells me she knows our light is blinking as its her job to watch for the lights and then proceeds to clear the ID code and then to further be disrespectful and tell me how she also does not like to be interrupted when she's with another customer and I apologized and said I hadn't realized she was with another customer and she just looked me.up and down huffs at me and turns around and leaves. For someone meant to interact with customers so often you either need to give her targeted training on customer service and respect or find someone more qualified and my Mother in law whom frequents the grocery store has complained of the same woman so she clearly has a chip on her shoulder that...
Read moreMeijer is a great grocery store chain to begin with. Sourced in MI (starting in GR), they have a strong history of giving back to the local community (mostly GR but some up here too). Most notably, Meijer produce is reasonably priced (unlike Tom's) while also being edible (unlike WalMart).
This particular location is a nice, sizable store that has great grocery selections. The electronics and clothing selections a little less so (in particular, the electronics section here carries a lot of previous-year models, so check online before purchasing). Also, there's no jewelry counter at all.
But their grocery section is quite good for the area. And you really can't beat the crowds! Before this one was built, we had to drive all the way to the other side of TC to get to Meijer. And the TC Meijer was always crowded. This new Acme location is much less congested - though it's obvious from the development style that they expect this location to become more busy with time.
There is also a drive-through pharmacy here, but no gas...
