I'm from a fairly small town of approx 38,000 in which the fair was always awesome. I didn't know how big Acton was until I googled it, almost 2600 ppl. This was my first time & the fair had a small variety of things to do including one musical performance played several times throughout the day, he was very good. There were more events w/animals than anything else. A man & woman were standing outside the restrooms with a tip jar? I didn't understand why they would be wanting a tip for the public to use the restrooms so I put a dollar in the jar. The rides opened around 2 or 3pm, there were still more animal stuff going on than anything. For being such a small fair I found it to be way to expensive, for starters it was $18 to get in the gate at which time we were given a coupon for $4 off. Parking was $14 which was still way to much. The food was very expensive compared to orher fairs around the Labor Day weekend. Our day was filled with walking around & looking at cheap stuff, jewelry included. I did like some of the booths, however when you have a man standing there selling homemade baskets or table top lazy susans for $100, $200, and up to $400 it's ridiculous. (I don't think ppl plan on spending hundreds of dollars unless you have a huge family) We could tell that they were laser cut or a machine pattern cut, not homemade. When I go to a fair I look for different things to do & there just wasn't very much. I liked the taxidermist & looking at the animals. I won't pay $7.50 for a rootbeer float. We had some tacos & fried bread which in total was around $30. The fair started Thursday & continued to Sunday about 5pm & it was just ok. We went on Friday. While I like to get out & go for walks, for just under $50 was the most expensive walk I've ...
Read more★★★★☆ I recently visited The Acton Fairgrounds and overall, it was a delightful experience. The parking fees were a bit on the expensive side, but what made up for it was the unexpected entertainment I encountered. As I made my way through the fairgrounds, a squealing pig suddenly ran past me, which caught me off guard and made me burst into laughter. It was definitely a memorable moment!
Aside from that amusing incident, the fairgrounds had a great atmosphere with numerous attractions and activities to enjoy. There were plenty of food stalls offering delicious treats, and the various exhibitions and shows were truly impressive.
The only downside I encountered was accidentally stepping in a mud puddle, which was a bit inconvenient. However, the overall positive experience overshadowed this minor setback.
I would definitely recommend visiting The Acton Fairgrounds, as it offers a unique and entertaining experience for all ages. Just make sure to bring some extra cash for parking and be mindful of mud puddles!
I hope you have a wonderful time at The Acton...
Read moreOne big complaint. While there were a couple truly amazing booths selling things that were one of a kind or handmade goods, a good 80-90% of the vendors I saw were selling cheap items they clearly got off of AlieExpress or Temu and jacked the prices way up.
I saw spider rings that were $0.98 on Temu being sold for $10, those crystal crowns ppl were selling are $10 on Temu and being sold for $65+ at the booth, skull slippers that are $5 on Temu being sold for $20. I'm pretty sure the flower crown stand also purchased their stock from Temu for $5 a crown and they were selling them for $30. It just feels weird and disingenuous. Every time I saw something I liked at a booth I'd search it on Temu and I'd find it immediately. I'm not against reselling but if you're going to sell cheap items from a wholesale website at least price it fairly. 95% of what you'll be doing there is shopping so if the booths were held to a higher standard it would improve...
