Weighing in as a non-local here.

Pros: Good parking lot, moderate climb, great view at the top.

Cons: Wet and muddy in early July. Lots of foot traffic erosion. Mosquito clouds that didn't seem too bothered by the 100% Deet we were wearing. Very light on trail blazes.

I wish I had seem some warnings about attempting the loop. Most people seemed to hike up and back instead. Now I know why. Loved the hike. The pond side trail def was rough and not trodden often. Unmarked for the most part... It still was a beautiful day and a great hike. Highly recommend for the nature side and history. I'd do it again but do the summit trail. Over all a nice long hike with a lot of easy and also challenging parts. Well rounded. Def don't miss out on this wonderful nature in Vermont. A few people with the the summit trail tho no one on the other pond side trail. You will def enjoy it. It's def rocky and rooty. A lil mud so wear some...

A moderate hike which is about 4.2 miles up & down. Definitely worth it once your up there. The views at the top are amazing and the perfect spot for a snack. This hike is also very dog-friendly.
