Very poor organization drags down what would otherwise be an excellent sports complex. Latest example — today my daughter’s team was booked on A field. This field, the only field designated A on this year’s map, was doubled booked for our game. I ran to find someone to help. The two employees who were busy making shirts for people and were polite apologized and told me they couldn’t help but they’d call over someone who could. When the person arrived and I explained, she told me she would put us on field Q. I confirmed by team name and she said “yes, I’ll text the referee.”
I texted our team and all the players and parents go from A to Q where no referee showed up and no other team. Another parent ran and learned we were on an A field clear across the park — by this point it was ~15 minutes after our start time. Again no other field was designated A on the map. We were told the original A field is actually “1 A.” So we hoofed it from Q to unmarked A where the other team and referee were waiting. That referee advised me he received no text to go to Q.
Unfortunately this example is par for the course in my three years with kids playing at Sozo. I don’t like writing reviews. But with the amount of $$ this place brings in and the truly nice facilities, it’s a shame they consistently fall short with organization in a way that detracts from the kids’ learning and enjoyment in their...
Read moreThere is plenty of parking, but it's $5 to watch your own child play football. The parking lot is gravel that's been spray painted. The fields are not marked, and there is no signage to tell you where to go. I figured it being a sports complex, there would be covered seating or at least seating, but nope. You have to bring a pop-up tent and chairs. I had a blanket I threw down, but my booty still got wet from the grass. So don't forget your chairs. You're allowed to bring your own food and drinks in coolers, and man, do some people go all out for an hour and a half game. It's like they bring the whole house. They do have a food vendor that serves hotdogs and fries and a few more items, but I don't want to pay $8 for hotdogs. The curly fries for $8 as well weren't very curly, more like the end of the bag on every order. I loved watching my kids play and cheer, but I expected more from the complex itself. You hear so much about SOZO, but it's just a...
Read moreI attended the recent Hop Country Music Festival with the headliner Chole Swindell 9/9/22 & 9/10/22. ADA access was non existent aside from very few paved handicapped parking slots that was full. The few that were left were in the large kind of gravel and not wide enough for a side loading wheelchair van. I had to not only double park to have enough room to unload but I also had to forcefully pull/drag the wheelchair with my client through the rock. I had to do this again to get into the gates not to mention to leave. The venue also did not have an ADA tent as stated on the website. There was also no ADA space/seating anywhere for a wheelchair. Instead, security seated/separated us to sit in the area where the Audio/Video/Spotlight scissor lifts are located, we were the only 2 people there. This venue is not welcoming to people that actually require ADA and I will never take my client here again or suggest...
