Iv'e came here for many years to ride the trails horseback. It's always been a peaceful place. In the last couple of years though it has gone downhill. There is a lot of logging being done with has messed up parts of the horse trails. Most of the time the trails themselves didn't even look like a trail anymore, they are no longer well kept. We spent most of our time just riding the hunters roads which would run us into several trucks and dirt bikes. (Isn't the best when you're trying to enjoy a peaceful ride on your horse.) This is what we do with our parks in Auburn, which are beautiful and clean. As it stands this a a trash...

It doesn't compare to the other national forests and state parks in Alabama but it's free to use and is a great respite from the urban environment. It's not very large compared to other national forests but it's got plenty of places to get away and go camping. They also have a pretty cheap...
