My recent adventure with Alaskan Husky Adventures, as showcased on their informative and inviting website (akhusky.dog), was an experience I will cherish forever. The excursion was blessed with perfect weather, adding an extra layer of magic to the already stunning Alaskan landscape. The clarity of the skies and the crisp, fresh air complemented the exhilarating dog sled ride, making it not just a journey across the snow but a dance with nature itself. The organization of the entire trip was impeccable; from the moment I visited their website to the end of the adventure, every detail was thoughtfully arranged, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all participants.
The heart and soul of Alaskan Husky Adventures are undoubtedly the guides. Their professionalism is matched only by their friendliness, creating a warm and welcoming environment right from the start. Read moreDog sledding is a MUST for any Alaska trip, and the experience at Alaskan Husky Adventures did not disappoint! Liz and her staff were excellent hosts, and we enjoyed a beautiful winter sled ride on a sunny day (we even saw Denali!). I highly recommend their business! The passion for the dogs and the thoughtfulness to their development and care is very clear. Any time I talk to someone who doesn't understand dog sledding or why dogs would want to be outside in the cold, I tell them to visit a dog kennel in Alaska! This was my third winter trip to Alaska to see the start of the Iditarod race, and I have never seen happier dogs in my life than when they're getting ready to go out on the trail. It is truly their calling, and the wonderful people that devote their lives to the dogs deserve all the respect in the world. Kudos to Matt and Liz for following their passion, creating this wonderful opportunity to share their dogs with the public, and for all their hard work out on the trail. FYI – If you’re a first-time visitor to Alaska, it's an easy drive from Anchorage to reach their kennel, and if you’re lucky, there’s some beautiful views of Denali from the property. At the end of the ride, you can warm up with some hot cocoa and ask more questions about the dogs. With Liz's background in News, maybe someday they'll even have an educational video to explain the basics of dog mushing to first-time visitors! (As an animal lover, I'm unreasonably excited about informational talks!) All-in-all, an incredible experience. Everyone in my family enjoyed...
Read moreIt was an awesome experience. BEST in Alaska! The sled ride was longer than we thought it would be. Very cold but we were given complementary winter jackets that were super warm. The morning views were epic, Most of the ride, we can see the sun slowly shining upon Denali in the background.
Epic, our lead dog was super energetic and great. He would immediately jump into the snow whenever we stop, which is super cute. Our guide Stacy was so friendly and passionate about what she does. We had a great time conversing with her while riding. She even took us on some offroad with powdery snow. Playing with puppies afterwards was a great fun, and complimentary hot choca was delicious! The dogs are the most energetic and friendly dogs I've ever played with. All the other staff members were super knowledgeable too. They also have a wall-of-frame of rewards and some merchandise to buy.
Afterward, we were heading back out on the snowy road and got stuck. We gave a call to the business if they had anything to help us with. Matt, the owner, came immediately to help us with shovels. He personally helped me and my husband shovel snow and guided us out. It was a process. It took like 50 mins, but he helped us the whole time and guided us because we were newbie snow drivers and had no idea what we were supposed to do. I'll be forever grateful just for this kind gesture of him. I'll be their lifetime customer. Thank...
