We visited Anchorage for corporate event and used Alaskan Sights and Bites for one of the group dinner outings. Our group was staying at Alyeska, which added a bit of a challenge, but Dan was extremely helpful, responsive and accommodating throughout the whole booking experience. Dan also did not disappoint during the tour itself. As we walked through Anchorage towards our dinner destination, Dan gave us some facts through interesting stories. We ended the tour at The Dirty Apron, where a private chef cooked up some amazing food, with the help of some of the group. Although a cooking demonstration/lesson was not necessarily our original intention, it turned out great and our group loved it! And again, Dan was very willing to do whatever necessary to make sure the evening was a success. I would highly recommend Alaskan Sights and Bites for any group outing.

Had the most amazing driving tour with Chris and Tom. Driving along Turniagain arm is absolutely breathtaking on a sunny spring day! We stopped for photos and saw trumpeter swans and dall sheep up on the rocks. Chris told us a lot of interesting Alaska's history and info. Lunch at Girdwood was well organized, although it was busy with Slush cup. Beer was tasty and food delicious šŸ˜‹. I had the Mexican, which I loved!!! Then we drove to wildlife conservation center to visit the woodland bison, bears, moose, muskox, funny little porcupines, and so much more. More photo Ops šŸ“ø on the way back, and we had the best day ever! I went alone but gained 7 new friends! I will definitely go on another tour with Alaskan Sights & Bites again. We did so much in one tour! Thank you, Chris and Tom. Had the Best Day ever!!

We booked a chocolate and wine tasting tour with Alaska Sites and Bites and had an AMAZING time. This excursion was an absolute highlight of the trip. Chris was incredibly knowledgeable and shared great history about Anchorage and the state of Alaska. We had lovely time learning about Anchorage and meeting a local business owners. While planning, many people asked why we elected to a rent an AirBnB and explore Anchorage versus selecting cruise. This experience confirmed our choice. This tour started at 05:00 pm and gave last 2-3 hours. You will not regret signing up for the wine and chocolate tour. Please add this as a ā€œmust doā€ for your Anchorage itinerary!

Booked the chocolate and wine tour with Alaskan Sights and Bites. We had a group of 6 people with a mixture of 20 somethings and 50 somethings. We had a great time exploring two newer local businesses offering fun and entertaining options to explore. The tour was at an easy to reach location downtown and Chris was early to help us get oriented. The van was more than large enough and very clean. We met some friendly folks from out of town and shared a good time at both locations. The chocolates were amazing and included some local sourcing of sea salt, amazing. The wines were plentiful and so many options to choose from that every palate was satisfied. With time to spare Chris drove us near the airport to look for moose and sure enough we saw an impressive bull walking down the trail. Even as locals we never tire of seeing them! We would recommend this to tourists and locals alike. Helping to support local businesses that are working hard to create memorable experiences is fun...

Being the last tour of the season, we had the tour to ourselves. Sourdough Dan was personable, down to earth, and just a cool dude to spend the morning with.

Unlike some food tours I've taken in other cities that take you to spots that are less busy just so we can get in (regardless of quality), Dan took us to some of the most popular and must try spots in the city. Many of his spots were already on my try list and hitting them all with Dan was great. All the options were great, with a good mix of sweets and savory items. There was a little bit of walking, but no excessive distances. There was so much food on the tour that we did not have to eat any additional breakfast or lunch.

I will say this wasn't a particularly informative tour, but Sourdough Dan had some amazing stories that was really able to communicate and convey the culture and heart of local and native Alaskans.

All in all this was a great tour, with great food, and a wonderful tour guide. Would...

First I want to say that this was an amazing day. I would definitely recommend this tour! I’m very particular about the food I eat while I didn’t enjoy everything I did find many parts that I did enjoy eating. I plan on going back to one of the places just to try what I had again. I think you would definitely need to go with people who make you laugh and don’t take things to seriously. It just makes the tour better when you have good company. Second, I really appreciated the personal touch that was included by our host Dan. I really resonated with his story and passion for doing something that he loves. At the end of our tour I found out that Dan had already done another tour for that day and you cannot even tell! He was so involved and funny throughout the tour I would have never known. It’s a growing business and I’m glad I got to experience the fresh beginnings. Thank you Dan for a...
