For every city I visited, I tried to see and take a photo of the city's skyline. This location is such a great spot and highlights not just the Anchorage city's view but the mountain ranges towering the buildings and as backdrops of the skyline itself. Such nice contrasts of nature and modern development made this view unique and worth seeing for. I love Anchorage (oh well, Alaska in general). It is such a surprised that winter in Alaska is not as bad as what others are dreading. When I decided to go to Alaska at winter time, I didn't have that much expectations. I have only one goal, and that's chasing the elusive Northern Lights. And the rest of the activities are just for the sake of finishing the tour. My friends are telling me.. "Are you crazy going to Alaska in winter?" And I am like... "I know, right?" But for the love of Aurora, I will. " Little I know that everything in Alaska is magical and wonderful and surreal and magnificent during winter time. For instance, seeing or gracing Mount Denali's peak is such a rare occurrence, and the chance of seeing it at wintertime is far greater than summertime. Not to mention the beautiful view and ranges on top of Mount Alyeska. We've been blessed to have clear skies during our visit that every view of towering mountain ranges truly made me feel I am literally at the top of the world. I will definitely come back to Anchorage and other cities in Alaska, and it will be in winter time again. I wonder if in summertime I will be able to see this beautiful skyline and ranges at this very same location not covered...

Nice short walk along the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail from Earthquake Park, parking lot. Nice views of Cook Inlet and back towards downtown Anchorage. One concern on the trail. The majority of cyclists overtaking us from behind did not either ring their bell or call out "on your left" as they passed. Many were on e bikes and traveling very fast over 15 mph. Didn't see any signage along the stretch we walked advising on basic greenway etiquette. Otherwise a nice introduction activity for our first...

Clear days with snowclad mountain tops in the background, Anchorage downtown looks the preetiest from this location. Make sure to visit early as you may be able to watch the sun rise in the eastern sky over here. Nevertheless, the place looks picturesque in the late fall season of early October, with the drive up to the viewpoint. Also, it is superclose to the Ted Stevens airport so kind of like the first stop for...

Definitely a popular spot for photography, we were looking for somewhere to relax & enjoy the sunset. There were many people there & a few who were enjoying their music a bit loudly. If you can ignore all the other people, it's quite a lovely spot, or if you're looking for others who enjoy watching sunsets, this is a great place! Worth the visit either way.
