We are local and wanted some hands-on experience so we could try ice fishing on our own next season. Sonia and Dan made our first time ice fishing fun, educational, and just overall awesome. They sent us very detailed instructions on when and where to meet and what to bring. Every single part of our experience was fun. Dan and Sonia had the rods, holes, and shelter set up and ready to go when we arrived. They got our fish off the hooks and re-baited them for us so all we had to do was catch fish and reel them in. Their shelter had a heater inside so we could choose to fish the holes outside the hut or the ones inside the hut if we got cold. The hut had little pockets on the walls to place our things so they didn't get damp sitting on the ice.

Our favorite part was catching fish but getting to try out the ice auger to drill our own holes at the end was a close second. Dan cleaned our fish for us and Sonia took lots of photos for us to enjoy. They are not only professional and clearly know their stuff, they are also just really nice people.

If you are looking for an ice fishing tour, this is it. Whether you're a tourist visiting AK or if you are a local wanting to try something new like we did, you will have a wonderful time. I recommend you bring ice crampons for your shoes so you can get around more easily and some nitrile gloves so your hands...

My husband and I had a GREAT day with Dan and Sonia. I booked the experience as an early birthday present for the hubby and was prepared to stick it out so he could enjoy himself—I’m not hugely into fishing and tend to take walks or read while he does his thing. But I really enjoyed the experience! Dan and Sonia really take their guests’ comfort into account. We had a heated tent on the ice, chairs, music...they provided hand and toe warmers and let us borrow gloves. We were also set up with sonar equipment, and Dan and Sonia made sure that we were comfortable using it. They gave us advice on technique, swapped out bait to keep the fish interested, and cleaned the fish that we caught. Sonia took some great pictures for us, and they gave us lots of suggestions on what to do in the towns nearby. They also stayed out with us well past the time slot that we booked. We definitely never felt rushed, and they even let us ride around the lake on their snowmobile! Definitely recommend, and will definitely re-book if we make it back this way. I highly recommend Drill Team 6 to anyone looking for a quality day of fishing. Dan and Sonia are honest and genuine people. They provide a top notch experience and customer service that seems hard to find these days. Our King fishing day was just my partner and I. I really appreciate that they don't just fill the boat with strangers. It was just us and it allowed us to really enjoy our time on the water. Dan is extremely knowledgeable and was willing to share stories and his expertise with us. It was also great connecting with him as a fellow Wisconsinite. (A lot of laughs were had.) I was able to land a decent King during this season's challenging conditions. This was only possible with Dan's directions, the gear they provided, and his effort to go the extra mile to put us in a good spot. Throughout the entire process (from registration, communication, day of fishing, and all the way to the fish processing) I could tell they really care about their clients.
