After reading all of the reviews, and seeing all the pictures, my husband and daughter were very excited for their zip lining experience. They enjoyed the transportation in the four-wheel-drive vehicles to get up to the course, but that is where the enjoyment ended. It took an hour to get into the gear, and then they proceeded to wait for almost 2 hours before they actually started zip lining. All the pictures we had seen were very different from what they experienced. They did approximately 15 minutes of actual zip lining, instead of the referenced 90 minutes. We spent $500 for the two of them to do this experience, and it was more like a kid course and not the adult course we had paid for. I am not sure if this was done on purpose, or why it happened this way. They were clearly understaffed, and said as much. It would’ve been better at that time to admit they were unable to provide the zip lining on the adult course and to offer us a solution to make it right. They were the last group of the day, and it’s possible the whole experience was completely mishandled. They seemed like nice people, but for what we paid, we were very, very disappointed. It’s just very sad because we will probably never be back up here again, and the amount of time that was wasted on this trip is something we can...
Read moreWe had an absolutely outstanding time at Grizzly Falls, our initial shuttle driver Victor was engaging, outgoing and provided great local info on the ride to the camp. Once there we were absolutely fascinated at the greenery and environment. It was something that Disney couldn’t even imagine. We were then transported up the mountain in off-road trucks where we met our guides. We had Alec and Vesna who were just awesome. Admittedly, I’m a bit afraid of height yet I never felt uncomfortable here. Vesna and Alec were fun while being true safety professionals. The runs were challenging and beautiful as we flew through the trees and over waterfalls, my wife probably got tired of hearing me as I told her how awesome the views were. As you go through the zip lines, each one has optional challenges that you can do like flipping upside down and such or going in no hands, it caused you to have to push through some of your reservations that you may have had and we all had a blast doing it. After the zip line tour, you have a little time to explore their little small village with shops where we scored a cup of coffee. This is the best excursion I can recall doing on a cruise ship ever I highly highly recommend it....
Read moreMy family (from L.A. and San Diego) visited Grizzly Falls Zipline Expedition in Skagway as one of the key excursions during our Alaska cruise with Holland America. We were so excited for the four of us to experience it together (mom, dad, son and daughter). Our bus driver Sarah was terrific, educating us on Skagway as we drove through town and over to the camp. We boarded a unimog and had a fun drive into the forest to reach the zipline area (a truly beautiful drive). We geared up with confidence as the Alaska X team ensured everyone’s harnesses and trolleys were secured. I truly appreciated their attention to detail - safety first!
Sarah & Lee were our guides and led us to the ziplining area. They were absolutely amazing, ensuring everyone felt comfortable, safe, and had a GREAT time. They were SO much fun to be with from start to finish! I’d highly recommend them to anyone considering this adventure. Thank you very much for making this the best excursion of...
