Great historical sightseeing adventure. Several buildings to explore. There is a small cafe upstairs in the Roadhouse. A barn, a sod-roofed cabin, some outbuildings, and a lovely walk by the river. When we were there, they had a pig and some chickens on the property (all in pens). Just a great way to see how people survived in Alaska at the turn of the century.

In not a distant past people traveling into Interior Alaska (Fairbanks) had to take a ferry barge across the river to continue their journey. The people here at this station had much to do with shaping the area to what it is today. The history here is well preserved.

Beautiful historic site. We learned a lot about the regions history during our visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the stop if you’re in the area.

We stopped here close to their closing time at 4pm and they happily accommodated without rushing us. Of course our choices were limited because the kitchen was almost closed so we each chose sandwiches which we already premade, chips and coffee. My chicken salad was very delicious, albeit on the small side and hubby said the turkey and swiss was too. The coffee was excellent. We figured it would be strong at the end of the say but were sadly mistaken. All in all it was a great stop for a quick bite to get back...

Great place for a stroll, each building is a museum display and we'll thought out. Everything maintained very well, pie is great and the gift shop proprietors are friendly and helpful. Would love to see the Cafe open someday. If you are exploring the trails, don't neglect to follow the one into the woods until it hits the road. Make a left at the toad and walk about twenty feet...you'll find stone steps that lead yo Rika's grave. We went a couple of times during our stay in Delta Junction. Peaceful...

So very disappointed in this piece of Alaskan history. I have always made a trip here with family visitors, but today after paying $5 per person only to walk in and find they were closed up tighter than a drum at 4 pm on a Monday has made me change my tour guide skills and remove this off my list. Would have really appreciated a sign at the trail head listing hours. No one leaving said anything to us either. Even an employee rode by on a side-by-side and said nothing. Guess the money needs to be...
