My daughters and I had stopped in for ice cream on our way home from Kentucky. This was the first visit this year, we had been there several times before. There were 3 teenagers working the grill/ice cream area. It was not busy, the boy was making fries, a blonde girl standing with the deer in the headlights look on her face and then another teen dark haired girl was putting something in a bag and talking at the blonde. After waiting several minutes an older lady asked if we were waiting for ice cream, I replied yes please. The dark haired girl, annoyed came to take out order. My oldest daughter with her infant in her arms ordered a cookies and cream regular cone. After handing the cone to my daughter the girl looks at me and says what do you want? Very cold very rude and I said wow, that's rude. She giggled. I got 2 more cones. These cones has barely enough ice cream to see over the top of the cone, kind of like a kiddie cone. Went to cash out and the older man said just the ice cream, no smile, no small talk, no friendly nothing and I said yes, then I asked him if those were his grandkids, he said a couple are, my guess would be the 2 girls. Honestly the boy seemed to be doing his job and smiled at least. Maybe I hit them at a bad time but dear Lord No Southern Hospitality there at all. One of my daughters works at a similar place closer to our house. She said wow if I ever said that at my work or wasn't smiling when customers walked in Miss... Would have my butt. We will not go...

Read moreThank God that this store popped up right when I did not think I could drive another mile! I have never driven on hilly, curvy mountain roads that don’t have a shoulder and a constant double line in the center. I couldn’t wait to stop somewhere and rest and see if I could get off of this mountain! This was a great store and it was very quaint and it helped to get my mind off of the drive. I bought some great fudge and would have eaten some thing, but they were out of the two things I was interested in. Lots of old-fashioned, toys, and souvenirs and it seems everyone that came in the door of this store/restaurant/souvenir shop, knew one another. Luckily, I found out that the road gets better once you reach the top of...
