Save A Lot — Local services in Albany

I went in and done my shopping, got to the check out and my card doesn't swipe. It had to be entered manually so naturally they had to get a manager for help. The manager, Dwight, got up there and entered my number and it didn't go through, he said he'd try it "1 more time"! The second time I watched as he put the numbers in, I noticed that he was putting in a number wrong so I said so. Needless to say, it went through just fine. This manager needs to learn to manage his store correctly. First, the cashier should have known how to do this without a manager, so maybe try to teach them THEIR JOB, by doing YOUR JOB! Second, any manager will tell you that a manager is supposed to be helpful to their customers instead of acting like it's a bother and like they're not getting paid to do just that. So Dwight, you need to find a job you don't hate or do what they pay you to do without being rude because you had to walk to the front of the store!! You are unprofessional and shouldn't be a manager. Btw, I only left 1 star...

It's a standard grocery store. The produce has a pretty good selection of fruits and vegetables. The milk is always n date and there's alot of options for snack cakes, canned goods and bread. The 1 thing I can't understand is why there aren't any Coke products, I had to go to another store to buy some. The staff are very friendly and courteous, the prices are very decent. The 1 criticism that I do have is the isle size, there isn't really room for 2 ppl with buggy's to meet. I actually Hate that!!! I will not go down an isle there with another shopper n it because its embarrassing to have ur buggy scrape up against someone else's while we pull and tug, trying to get the carts as far up against the shelves as allowable to make room. It's not usually crowded but was last time I went, hence the buggy trouble. I do plan on returning. I'll post...

This place has great prices on pop and basic items. Most of the off brand items I've gotten have tasted just fine. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Great prices on staples like milk, potatoes, butter, cheese, chips, etc. I wish the produce section was more fresh and had more of a selection, but that seems to be the case everywhere in this area. The shelves are always fully stocked.

My one real complaint is there are usually long lines at the checkout. There never seems to be enough registers open and that gets frustrating always having to wait in line so long. Love this...
