Long's Products — Local services in Alexandria

I visited Long’s Products recently because I wanted to shop local and pick up some concrete floor polish for my business. I didn’t even know this store existed until now, so I was excited to support a local supplier.

Unfortunately, my experience was not what I expected. When I walked in, I wasn’t greeted at all—no “hello,” no “can I help you find something,” nothing. There was a lady at the counter talking with the employee behind the desk, but neither acknowledged me while I looked around. I circled the store multiple times, clearly browsing and backtracking, but still no one asked if I needed help or assistance.

In the end, I walked out without purchasing anything. I wasn’t even told “thank you” or “have a good day” on the way out. For a local business that could have gained a long-term customer and steady purchases for cleaning products, this was disappointing.

I’m leaving this review in hopes that the management takes note and works on improving customer service—greetings and basic assistance go a long way. Shoppers (especially business owners like myself) want to feel welcome and valued, and unfortunately that wasn’t the...

I am a house cleaner from Illinois. I placed my first order with Long's 12 days ago. Some way, some how it got damaged during the shipping process. Ryan was just amazing! Used Longs Toilet Ring Remover on an old tub that was stained and rusted. It took two applications ( probably because I was not sure what to do at first). I left the second application on for about 6 hours and voila! I came home to an amazing like- new porcelain tub!

Beware, it will fade dark tile if you don’t wipe away splashes immediately.
